Has anyone LOST 50 HP and been happy???

I agree, get used to the newer chassis and you will not miss the power at all, you will probably go more places because it's easier to throw around. I went from mod Edge Chassis to Mod M-Cat chassis to a stock Rev and have never had more fun or climbed higher on the hills, the Dragon are great sleds! And you don't have to pack so many tools!! :beer;

Brandy, the fun factor returns with "normal" power. You can enjoy the sled and use your skill to get around. As opposed to "how fast do I want to go up it".
I shed 80 or so HP and I am having the time of my life!!!

Isn't there a big old 4 stroke missing from your list?

Sooooooooo unsure. lol Just like a girl, eh boys? Just can't make up her mind. I wanna turbo Nytro... but that isn't happening this year....

Rode the 08 700 Dragon today. Felt like I was learning to ride all over again. Put her on her side twice (came off a jump and just flopped over). Rolled her once (which she has to learn to do gracefully if she is to be mine....).

There is a new high here I noticed. Hitting the top of a climb and wondering if you are actually going to make it because you have no more throttle. That gets the heart pumpin' too.:D

Climbed out of everything I wanted to today, but that is WA concrete for ya... :face-icon-small-con

What I learned today-

I might have to learn how to ride again......... lol

Dragons don't like to countersteer (in this snow with PowderPro's on)

Handwarmers rock.

One arm staring rocks.

Reverse is just kind of fun. :) (will have to learn to co-exist w/ ice scratchers)

Pump gas is cool.

Dragon's are easier to put back on her feet than the Edge....

You CAN sit down on the trail ride in/out...... who knew?

But oh man... we are sitting in a bar of guys pounding their chest of who rides the baddest sled and they ask what I ride. Just sounds kind of boring to say 700... lol (sorry if I offend... I'm a HP snob, I admit that) As I said, this might take a 12 step program. ;) :face-icon-small-ton

Still pondering..............:beer;

No offense inteded, but if you told me you rode an 1150 mod in a bar Id probably laugh about it and think all you do is go straight up and down, probably cant ride. (not saying you cant) What I find more impressive is a woman on a light boondocker like a d7 or summit 6 that can follow the guys through the trees and do more technical climbing and aggressive riding with a little technique. Anyone can pin the throttle and hold on.

Why punish yourself? The new chassis will be so much easier to toss around youll be able to open up a whole new part of riding. They arent to shabby on the hills these days either, no matter what you choose. Less weight is much more important to me personally than raw horsepower on a heavier sled. Youll become a much better rider on the lighter sled, and be less sore at the end of the day. Good luck!

I'll also lose about 35#s.

Ahem. I'll leave that one alone. :)

one armed starts...?

You can't start your 1150 with one arm? LOL

Sounds like you should have tested out the D-8, Probably a better match for You...
The needing more throttle thing happens to me all the time, you will have to learn what your new machine can climb:D, What was easy on your 1150 becomes more challenging on a stocker;)

I'd like to be in the bar when you Laugh at Brandy, would be funny.
The alpha male ego you have is great, Maybe You should try to follow some of the women we ride with through the trees, Not all women need to follow.:light:

I think its a pretty obvious answer. You have 4 choices.

1.)Sell your edge chasis and drop the 1150 into an IQ.

2.)BB an IQ.....

3.)IQT

4.)Ride a stocker and be happy....

IMO... probally #1 or #2 are your options. Personally I would pick #3, for a long list of reasons.

I dunno bout that Scott!

I'd LOVE to put my 1155 in an IQ RMK chassis. That would be a blast.

but would it make ya handle it any better, or NOT!:D

Alpha male complex? Sure, thats why I ride light, "slow" sleds. Give me a break buddy. Wow, some people sure go up in arms about petty comments, Did you notice the no offense comment, and the "not saying you cant ride" statement? I was referring to her as a woman in general, gloating in a bar about riding an 1150 because a 700 isnt good enough for the "guys," not her specifically. Man, you guys sure like to get your Thunderstruck panties in a bunch dont you...She wanted advice, I gave her advice, you dont like it, I could really care less. It wasnt even remotely intended as a slam on her or her riding ability, which Im sure is outstanding. Buddy, relax I would laugh at YOU if you were bragging it up about riding the same sled in the same bar for the same reasons.

I think you allready answered your own question Brandy...You said on the ladys ride you had more fun then in a LONG time riding a STOCK sled....

For the amount of riding you do each year a somewhat stock sled that runs on pump gas would seem to be the ticket. You are such a good rider you will go anywhere the bigboys go on thier "mods"..Sarah is a prime example, she goes everywhere the guys do and on a fairly stock sled.

Get a D8,M8 or Rev8,single pipe it(mainly to get rid of the weight of the huge muffler),and add whatever things make it fit you well(riser, that sort of thing) and ride the hell out of it..I think you will enjoy riding so much more not worring about the engine and the amount you save on race gas will pay for two or three more BIG trips somewhere next year...:face-icon-small-hapThe newer chassis are just so much better it makes up for the lack of power..Look at our IQ shop sled, only a 730 and it went everywhere at revy and halfway..

Just my .02.....:face-icon-small-win

You are just not sure because you won't be the cool chick on the full tilt mod anymore..HAHAHAHA..
You'll still be plenty cool..Don't worry...The boys will be pissed when you beat them on a stocker, right now if you beat them they just say, well of course she went where we didn't,she's on a 200 hp mod!!

Like Lynn said,he lost 80 hp and is having WAY more fun then ever...

Holy crap that thing still runs? Has to be the longest running PSI motor in history...;):D

What did you do Scott put that thing in your kids sled, to make it live that long???

Better find some more sponsors to make the retro fit.

Brandy, I have ridden both the RMK 700 and 800. My advice to you would be to buy either one of these sleds and put a Struthers BB kit in them, if you feel you still don't have enough power, well hey there's always boost or the bottle:beer;.
Edit: Turbo Nytros are pretty nice too! (ridden two of them).

HAHA, you fuggers. BOTH of you.

Justin, I just stored it in Sothern Idaho this summer. They always run better after that.

I straddled an IQ 600rr this weekend. After turning the handlebars a couple times...I want to pull the rope.

Don't take anything I post too seriously, I was just Jerking your chain for the fun of it.
Brandy is a good rider and good riders can ride any sled and look good.

What does that make you a showroom racer?

Those set ups look nice, but I still cant believe they are better than a sled designed for riding in the mnts.

AKrev, no offense was taken on my part. I'm good with my "riderhood". ;)

Bryan, always gotta be stirrin' the pot. ;) Thanks though.

I'm reading to many issues w/ the 800D. I can get this 700, put a pipe/can combo on it and be where the stock 8 is.... still be less money into it, a few less #s and from what I've read, less issues. :)

I've wanted to put my 1150 in an IQ for 2 years now... and if someone won't shoot me a decent price on the engine, maybe that'll be a project this summer.

But then again just pull and go is soooooooooooo nice. See, flipity flop. hehe

And Scott, I can start my 1150 one armed, when she is warm. First thing in the morning.... I'd rather just go chop off my left arm. ;) And exactly what you saying on the whole 35# dealio eh? Unfortunately my full tilt mod was not a light full tilt mod. Her name was Cartman for a reason weighing in at wonderful 518. Full bodied baby.
