Greenrock conditions

Keep it coming!!! Hobbs park North east of Lander is reporting over 30" new since yesterday! Great storm, hopefully snowies get another foot on top of what they got already. :face-icon-small-hap

At least 18"+ from last night, heavy wet spring snow as this am.Be back up in the am....will post after 5pm friday more updates if any:face-icon-small-hap

WY tags don't expire until June 30th 2011. I highly doubt they will even enforce you riding into July if there is enough snow, since they don't produce next seasons registration stickers till fall.

Did it rain up top today or did it get too hot??? Snotel went down 5" of snow really quick... :face-icon-small-fro

Riding update-Sunday May 22-I would say a good 6" of fresh on the west side today. There is so much snow up there that riding into July should happen. We rode from Snowy Range Tours with Cody and went through SugarLoaf-Lake Marie-Widowmaker-back to the north side of the gap and out over Brooklyn Flats back to Greenrock. Basically toured the majority of the mountain. By 1 pm the snow really started getting sticky but an awesome day of riding for sure. Be VERY careful when climbing the bigger hills, the snow is starting to break in slabs and washing down. 5 trips up SugarLoaf and that was pushing it! Never came across any open water and the lakes are still good to ride on!

Well that does it! I'm heading out after Memorial Weekend. Thanks for the nudge T! Would never have guessed our 1st trip to the Snowies would be in June.

The snow is no January-February snow but it is well worth riding still. Should be fun for you still!

I was riding a Tapex with the hood off, 3 others riding push Nytros and 1 Polaris Dragon. Unbelievable for this time of year. Going back up Tuesday to demo some new goodies from MPI:face-icon-small-hap

Riding update-Wednesday, May 25th. Started off very foggy until 10ish and cleared up with blue bird skies! Rode GreenRock-Lake Marie-Trail N, came back, refueled and went up Brooklyn Lake trail-Widowmaker-thru the Gap. The snow was great until around noon and then it starting setting up and getting sticky again. Snow base is great and had no major slides compared to Sunday. SugarLoaf and Widowmaker are setup and climbing them was not an issue but the avalanche danger is still up there. Average temp. until 2 was around 43 degrees. WyDot is on Libby flats right now-they've really boogied in the last couple of days!

Thanks for the report. Doesn't look like they will have hwy 130 open by this weekend...

rode today and it felt like oct. 27 degrees and snowing plus the wind. Hero snow but still fun. The road will not open for weeks, there is still the some amount of snow day as back in April.

About how far is WYDOT up the road. Have they made it to where you take a right off the road and head for the gap? When it is plowed all the way... how far up do they allow you to park and unload on the side of 130?

When we rode on Wednesday WyDot was maybe a quarter of a mile to the east where you turn and follow Libby Creek to get to Sugarloaf. From what I've seen WyDot has been leaving a single vehicle a ways back from the snow removal process, not exactly sure why they've been doing this. If you can find a pull-off area to park you can basically ride from where you want. Last spring some of the Sledneck boys were parked @ Lake Marie pull-out by the chitter and were riding the Toilet Bowl! This was in late June:face-icon-small-hap

they were just passsed libby flats 1oo yards from starting around the corner back down the hill. we parked at the lodge and rode out from there, plenty of snow to ride out of greenrock, just stay north of the road. the west side they were not even to Silver lake. we should be riding well into June maybe July:face-icon-small-ton The new mpi turbo nytro is a blast to ride. low boost and hero snow= lots of fun with good mpg

Will be coming through around the 4th of july was thinking of pulling the sleds please keep the updates coming.
Thanks Darren
