The TIED is a great clutch.. Yes, you WILL need venting.. this Pro design has zero air-flow passing over the clutches and nowhere for hot air to escape.. We will be using the Mod Rods Vents kits (when they arrive)
Keep in mind vents kits do not let hot air out.. Physics does not allow for this.. So, properly designed and placed vents will allow for cold air to ENTER the clutching area to cool the area and components.. This will help out considerably on this chassis..
Clutch heat is a given on ANY belt driven design... but lessening the temps will always be welcome.
Gizmo.. I am not going to get into a discussion regarding that...They are confident in their testing and results, as am I regarding our testing. It is not my place to credit or discredit anybody elses' products...
I only concern myself about my own designs.
I will say, that my sled will not be running a Gizmo.
Kelsey
I already have a tied clutch....want to try what you have when you are ready....
This sled (while i give you it handles nice, sidehills good, is fun, and has some good mountain features) is just not that much better than a stock sled 5 years ago. When you ride in steep terrain and deep snow, this sled is lacking horsepower. The clutching falls short, and i may need to go to the camo extreme track again.
Carl's always runs a custom helix too. I doubt there is a lot of performance to be had versus a off the shelve helix but everyone would just copy Carl's or RKT's setup if they didn't have a custom angle. Damn you RKT for trying to make money off your R&D.
Thanks Kelsey, i hope someone comes up with some horsepower and clutching asap.
i had my second ride on the wonderful pro ride and folks i have come to a conclusion. Most of you have no idea about riding in the mountains.

For those of you that sit on here discussing which one wins in a drag race and complain about the sled overheating on the trail on the way in, i have only one conclusion about you. You are riding somewhere east of North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming and i have never ridin even that far east.
Start a new forum called snoweast so i don't have to scroll through your boring posts to get useful information like Kelseys.
Oh yea, i have never bought a product from RKT and don't know Kelsey, but his business has been around since the last time i visited this forum 5 years ago or more. Good luck easterners, keep coming to West Yellowstone to tell your friends you ride in the mountains.
call me this week and I can get some more info on your riding conditions...
Also, know what spring you are currently running in your Tied..
