We came down a trail (Creek bed) and were trying not to fall down 10 foot holes. I don't know which creek it was though.

Fordman, you sound like you know the area pretty well. Rumor has it Gallagher can be accessed by sleds from the Boulder Creek drainage. Any truth to it?
Fly - Maybe what you heard was folks taking a sled down "Scatter Creek" from the Van Epps area to the Fish Lake road???
I've never done that, but know a Cle ELum guy that has done it a few times......
Hmmm.......... sounds pretty hairy. I'll stick to the fortune creek trail.
Mtnsldr..... According to my FS map, Big Boulder Creek trail starts off FS 4330 about 1 1/5 - 2 miles before Fortune Creek. Although, it is very possible my eyesight is messing with me. Been going blind from you know what.
That is the best way into van epps, especially when its deep. People tend to get a little pissed at you when you take them that way and not give them a heads up. We went that way last weekend, was perfect snow for it.
The Boulder Creek trail starts just after you cross Boulder Creek on the mail road.
Yep, which is about 1 1/2 - 2 miles before you get to Fortune Creek, right? Let's keep it simple.... I'm too confused as it is
So, what's it like going up/down Scatter creek? Never been that way; not even on a m/c........
