858 Emissions Recall - This Can’t Be Good

I got it done last Thursday and rode on Friday. 858 has 80 miles on it. I was hoping for a little more midrange snap, but was disappointed that it seemed to run exactly the same as before the EPA updated flash. So no better and no worse.

I received this email from articcatinfo a couple days ago. I haven’t seen anything posted on this yet, anyone know anything? And more importantly who is volunteering to get this reflash and report back? I’m sure it will make the 858 rip.
Got the reflash done last weekend and the guys at my dealership said that other people who have already done it were saying it ran way smoother at lower

I did mine last week and had the first day back on today and it was way snappier in a low range. Running around 11,000 ft Elevation and above. From what I have heard is that they were tuned too rich originally and the flash leaned out the fuel mapping a little bit. I will say I've heard nothing but hard times from other guys trying to break these sleds in but the one I've been on has ripped right off the showroom floor. Never had the RPMs limited, never had the exhaust valve issue or any bogging whatsoever. I've got about 9 hours on it now and am absolutely in love with this machine. The flash made it even more fun!

My sled has been solid since the first ride too. With over 10 hrs now, it's awesome. Definitely my favorite sled to date.

I have always wondered why later on there is an emission recall/update on so many vehicles long after manufacturing whether it be weeks, months or years later after the sale.

The testing that any manufacturer has to go through to get an EPA and/or CARB approval is unreal and super strict, to get the go ahead to be able to sell any vehicle, sled, utv/atv, boat, motorcycle whatever.

Then out of nowhere we get recalls and updates to do a revision to make them all of a sudden compliant??? Yeah right.

The sooner the EPA and CARB are abolished the better.
