full throttle in reverse

hahahahahahhahahahhahahah.

My buddies dad did this in the trees, he slammed his brand new EDGE RMK in a tree and smashed the rear bumper... didn't hurt the sled, just a bumper.. so funny though.

I also used to bump the button when riding while standing, what a pain usually instance stuck. I emailed BRP that they should have it set so it won't go in rev at a certain RPM and I see for 09 it won't change when over 4300RPM. So for you guys on new sleds that like to put it in rev to slow going downhill you will need to slow down the engine first.

not yet, I've been heavy on the throttle a few times and surprised myself though.

oh and it only took twice to realize it wasn't a free "get unstuck" tool hahah
damm that thing will skewer itself in deep when you do that haha

I learned that one the hard way too.:face-icon-small-ton

This thread is funny stuff! No funny stories though about me in reverse.......yet.:D

About my 3rd to last ride we left the lot.
I knew the ridge up the trail had very little snow and lots of rocks, so I went cross country through the trees to get above that point.
Got to a point where the turn was too tight to make without running into a tree.
By this time the sleds are hot and we are making very slow progress and I can see the meadow above me.
I reverse to get around the tree, hit the button but I didn't really listen for the buzzer to stop.
I nailed it, almost flew over the bars, and buried it in a hole wedged up against a tree. :face-icon-small-blu

One day late feburary me, my dad, and another fellow we ride with were messing around near the trails(a few hundred feet below it), and it was a little steep, and my dad and the other fellow were discussing if they thought we could make it. Me being the macho dude I am and my super studly 500xc sp(yes a short track) I say of course we can make it! and hammer down the throttle and starting going up. Things are going pretty good as I am crusing up, until I start turning and I see a tree. So basicly, the front end is right up against the dam thing, and trying to save SOME face i threw it in reverse a few feet and it killed after that.
So I get it going again and get ready to try and continue the climb by once again throwing down the throttle and I will admit, I was quite surprised to find out it was still in reverse. My dad still hasn't stopped giving me crap about it.

Our company takes us to a lodge and rents everyone snowmachines for the weekend and we all ride. So we all get up early saturday morning and we head on over to the shop to pick up all of our sleds and get ready to go tear up the mountains. We go inside and get all the paperwork filled out and he tells us to head out front and he will start bringing all the sleds around to us. After he gets about 3 sleds brought up and he starts backing the next one out of the shop, the sled launches backwards at full throttle then cranking into a 90 degree turn and launching the poor guy about 20-30 feet away from the sled. This was one of the funniest dismounts from a snowmachine that I have seen in a long time.
