Four Wheeler Question

I'm looking at getting another four wheeler and just wanted a little advise.

I'm thinking of the utility type, my sled has ruined me, need more power.

Kinda have it narrowed to a polaris sportsman 800 and the suzuki kingquad 750. Can am is interesting but too spendy, also like the kawasaki brute force 750.

personally i would pick the sportsman 800, the brute force is a nice machine too, wasn't impressed with the king quad in the mtns, the brp was impressive the other day in 2 ft of snow with some big diggers on it

I've always liked the sportsman, my current ride is a 500, like I said need more power. A friend has a chipped brute force, it screams. Spent some time on a 700 raptor last summer and loved it, just can't see getting a sport type, it'd be hard fitting elk quarters on it.......What do you think of the sportsman x2?

I ride an '07 Brute Force, and as soon as I can, i'm buying a 700 Grizz. The Brute is a great bike, but just doesn't quite fit the bill for what i need.

What type of riding will you be doing?

If I was shopping I'd buy the sportsman.. I know so many people with them so it seems more of a trustworthy machine and its nice to have people that have worked on the same models already when something breaks..

What...no Grizzly in the mix?? I have a couple 07 700's and they are very impressive. The ride and handling are great. I hear ya about the power of an ATV compared to a sled. It always takes me a little while to used it.

I like my Brute froce, The twins are a lot nicer IMO, The King is not as fun, It will not rev out like the brute, I can go over 40mph In Low the King feels like it will blow when you hit 30mph, not a big deal but I don't need to shift as much.

When I bought mine 4 yrs ago, I tried them all. I thought all were pretty equal so I went w/ the Kawi just because it was the cheapest. If I was to do it all over again, I'd go w/ Kawi or Yami, that Grizzly is nice.

Between the 800 sportsman and the 750 KQ, I'd go with the king quad. I was quad shopping last year about this time, and I tested almost all the quads (except the brute force.) I ranked them like this:

800 Outlander- Awesome power, it will outrun a lot of sport quads, sounds like a harley. But in plain jane form, ugly as hell.

650 Outlander- Impressive power for a 650. Comfortable to ride. Sportier look than most utility quads.

700 King Quad-I really liked it, but just didn't have the guts of the v-twin.

700 Grizzly- Same as above, but the power steering was nice.

800 Sportsman- Just felt way too big, might as well have a cj jeep with a small block chevy. At least you would have some power.

650/750 Brute Force- Didn't ride them.

I ended up with a can am outlander 650 xt. It's been a really good bike for me. It will run with/run away from every other 700 class utility quad I've been around. It's for sale too, nothing wrong with it, just not getting enough use out of it too justify having it.

I think after getting my *** handed to me by my friend's new Renegade 800 while I was on my YFZ450, it'd be worth it to save up a little longer and get the Renegade.

I'm definatley going to own one of those some day.

I've got a brute force...Great power... Not as much as Can-am 800...I really liked the Renegade 800.. THAT was the best I've ever been on...

But...the Kawa is more utility...I've had mine for a couple of years, only one problem that I can't seem to get rid of..the damned belt light comes on and it goes to limp mode, and I have to reset it all the time..frikken annoying..and my dealer doesn't know his stuff, so I'm on my own here...

If I was to buy a new one, it would be can-am 800 or the new grizzly..gotta love power steering

With the two choices you have offered up it's pretty easy choice. Go Sportsman for sure. Stronger components, better 4x4 system, I don't know about the engine stuff between the two but you do get some nicer features with the sportsman from what I see on the showroom floor.

Heck, I'm satisfied with my 500EFI, it's not super fast but it's fun.

Have had 2 Outlander 800's now...cant beat the power. I have a max now and the whole family rides on it....When I go by myself still have plenty of power to have fun. Havent had a minutes trouble.......great machine:)

i've got a grizz and LOVE it!!! buddies kingquad isn't even close!!!!! the sportsmans are nice, BUT they are big and HEAVY compared to most other units!!!!!!!! the price on a grizz should be quit a bit less than sportsman or even brute 750!!!!! and the grizz 700 has tons of grunt, but you will lose a race down a road!!! but where it counts, in the mud, on the trails and climbing, i have no problem keeping up to the sportsman 800!!! now the renegade is a whole different beast!!!!!!!!!!!!!! those things flat out rip, everywhere, but so far, they are still pretty pricey!!!!!!!

Mostly trails, I'm not much for dunes or major off road, do like some off camber stuff though. Also want something that will be good for hunting, our oldest boy is four so that's why I brought up the x2 sportsman, it seems like a versatile machine.
