Marcuso, after the few days I spent riding with the turboed Apex, I have to respectfully disagree. We had this sled stuck so deep a few times it was standing straight up. All we had to do was stomp a little snow out from under the front end, give a little pull on the skis, and it came shooting out. I know the logic of weight does not make sense, but the conclusion I came to was it had so much HP and track speed it could walk almost straight up until you could let off and let it fall on top of the snow. If I had to spend all day getting any sled unstuck I have ever owned or rode with this would be the sled, and I've owned some pretty light 1150's.
OK, after I started this thread a plan started to form. Owning one has become a possibility. I shared the plan with my wife this morning. Even she seems to be open to the idea. The question I have is if I'm going to do this I want to do it right. You can buy or build one for 15 to 16K, but to really get it custom you could go up to 30K plus. Is it worth the extra 15K for the extra custom stuff? The sled I rode had a VE tunnel and a rolled chain case w/EZ ride suspension on rear and Timbersled front end. I'm wondering how much this added to the rideability.
