Finally got to ride a turbo'd Apex

Lol

LOL 130 mph!

Aren't all our apex's geared for just under 100mph?

I am looking for a MCX apex used with low mileage too. It is far more attractive than spending the coin on a kit in my books.

Cheers

My Tapex has seen around 115mph or so according to the speedo.

1-How fast can anyone realistically go through off-cambered tight trees?
2-Am I crazy or is the funnest part of sledding carving in and out of wide-spaced trees at mach-looney AFTER boondocking through the tight groves to get there?

1- Faster than you or I can go... Vohk, burandt, and gardiner just rip through the tight trees...
2- nothing better than carving tight lines through tight trees down steep slopes in deep powder... its been an epic year so far and we have a few months to go!

oh yes back to the apex...
impressive sled stock. very well balanced riding wise.
amazing sled boosted/Supercharged
turn key, with a clock (why cant my sled have a clock?)
expensive all the way around.

my only complaint is it doesnt feel right jumping it... but then the titanic wasnt built to jump... though the apex would own the iceburg:eek:

Marcuso, after the few days I spent riding with the turboed Apex, I have to respectfully disagree. We had this sled stuck so deep a few times it was standing straight up. All we had to do was stomp a little snow out from under the front end, give a little pull on the skis, and it came shooting out. I know the logic of weight does not make sense, but the conclusion I came to was it had so much HP and track speed it could walk almost straight up until you could let off and let it fall on top of the snow. If I had to spend all day getting any sled unstuck I have ever owned or rode with this would be the sled, and I've owned some pretty light 1150's.

OK, after I started this thread a plan started to form. Owning one has become a possibility. I shared the plan with my wife this morning. Even she seems to be open to the idea. The question I have is if I'm going to do this I want to do it right. You can buy or build one for 15 to 16K, but to really get it custom you could go up to 30K plus. Is it worth the extra 15K for the extra custom stuff? The sled I rode had a VE tunnel and a rolled chain case w/EZ ride suspension on rear and Timbersled front end. I'm wondering how much this added to the rideability.

It didn't hurt the rideability!:D Also, you want the install done by someone who has done a bunch. Its all about the setup!!:D:beer;

Last time I turned mine loose:eek:, I let off when the speedo passed 174kph:face-icon-small-blu:o

All the bling is nice, but a good system with an attentive detail to install is what makes the difference. I love my Apex and I still have the stock skid with a few light weight add ons and some home engineering to keep expenses to a minimum. Would I like an M-10 and CR or VE tunnel? hell yes! do I need it? Hell no!

.

Your words contradict yourself.
YOu said the big power gets you out of being stuck, and also feathering?/ Look at you post.. LOL:face-icon-small-win

What is it?

Its not for everyone but if your packin' a beer gut and wanna spank all your buddies on a daily basis, in the trees outta the trees stuck deep or barley stuck it don't matter Boosted is better in every way. Most of the people i know are naysayers too but everytime one of them sees how well they perform in every condition, they're minds and attitudes are slowly changing...

I love the trees, really tight technical chutes and i've never had a sled that worked as flawless as the mcx apex, it has so much track speed so fast that you can almost chew through anything, if your worried about the weight then go ride your XP or Dragon, just don't ***** and whine when your stuck riding down in all the tracked up snow when i'm up and over and busting fresh pow all day long, not to mention the fact that you'll be bagged tired at the end of the day and i'll be fine!! its because the machine just works!:beer;

I keep noticing that most of the people that don't seem to care about how much these things cost have more than one sled in there sigs. I'm all about sledding but I don't see how people can justify spending 20-30 grand on a sled run it for a year or 2 and then do it again. WTF did you people win the lotto or something whats the secret?!?!?!?!?:face-icon-small-con:beer;

not jelous just want to know the secret
