favorite track length & why ?

I was riding in the Snowies last winter after a good snow and I got beat while climbing by 3 sleds the whole weekend. 1 was a turbo 4-stroke, one was a 900+ cc cat mod, and the other was mini me's 162" M7.

What was I on??? Old school skidoo chassis with a 740 engine (same HP range as any newer 700 and 800 sleds) and a 144" x 15" x 2" track.

I hardly get stuck unless I do something stupid, so why go longer? Besides, I like to jump a lot. :D

Love the 156"x 16 wide camo extreme not so long for turning out or on the truck but the width helps in the flotation and coming down hill doesn't scare the crap out of me anymore stiff paddles work great for braking jmho

i have a 144x16x2 and love it, i definately cant climb with my buddies, but i can make some tech lines in the trees and i like to jump plenty, i would like more track but that takes $$ i dont have, the 162x16x2.5 is such a huge track, it works so well climbing but is a pain in the a$$ when the going gets tight.

its seems like everyone likes there track length, or maybe we all just like to sled, the track lenght is not that important to us, we just think it is.

as of right now i like the 159" tracks have had 2 now, never rode a sled that was any longer but i would try it. although i weigh 230 without my gear on would not go shorter than that for myself but its whatever your happy with
later

151x16 for me. I do like poo's 155 and my 144x15 seems to be keeping up with the 151 just fine right now. Had a 159 last year and was just to long for what I liked to play in.

i really liked the 159 on the 07 x but as i get older i climb less and play more,,i hope the 154 is about perfect for me..will let you know in about 3 of 4 weeks when it gets deeeeeeep

Just outta curiosity, what do you guys riding the 151-155" tracks weigh?

I weigh 245 or so and have a 151, but I'm pretty well built .... I'm wondering if I'd really have any more trouble throwing a 163" or so around than I would the 151", they don't seem to weigh a whole lot more ....

I weigh about 190 with all my gear and I ride a 162 no problem. It's all about technique and finess, not weight. If you are 145 and over you can ride anything you want!!!

121 for sure because it is fun to see the flatlanders that think they got something show up in powder and all they really got is stuck!

151/153, 'cuz it's all I got!
Would definately consider a longer track on my next machine, don't find the 153 on the M7 feels long at all on the trails, and it's a very easy sled to throw around in the pow.
