well said Scotford...well said.

Like I said Just My 2cents....but then again who am I......

In the same tokone... as long as your riding having fun and making tracks... who F'NG cares how long your D..opps track is...

Like my slogan says....READ BELOW....

would it be worth the hassle to run a 144x16x2.3 on a 01 mt cat 900, or jsut extend and get a 151x2x15? it has a polaris 144 on it now and it over powers the track A LOT! i love my dads 151x16 on the rev.

I had a 151x15x2 and loved it on my 800. I then rode my cousins 159x15x2 and now that is what i have. The 151 is awesome but in the deep and steep I love the extra. I also don't mind throwing the sled around when boondocking, so the extra length in trees and tight area's is no big deal.

I've always had 136's and for this year have a 153(only length on the MTX). The 153 is fine but I wouldn't go any longer. If anything I would drop to the 150.

My sled is a '03 1M 600, that we took from a 144" to the 153x15x2.25 Challenger. Great track under this sled! :)

My 144" was too short because I would get stuck a lot when the snow was deep. This year I Put on a 159" and I'll let you know when the snow gets deep

159 works best.

I have riden with a 159 2 1/4 finger track for about 4 years now and thats a great track. This year I put a 159 2 1/2 polaris track on. I think 159 just does what you want it to.

151x16 is sweet spot for me..154 would prob do..something in that range.

159x16 was too much track for me and my riding style, personally.

some days i wish i had a 136x16 to do some real jumping/drops/etc... But i'd probably just damage my person. :( haha

I ride w/ 160s+ most the time, and have not had the "i really need a longer track to hang" feeling run thru my head.

That and, I think I'd just have more potential to get hurt, from all the extra traction I had w/ the 159...I could just point n shoot where ever I wanted...and then have to turn out and pee my pants on the way down. hahaha Shorter track puts a lil bit of a damper on that issue! :P

track length:

159X16 wide, easy to boondock and climb and has the same amount of track on the ground as the 162" , With big horsepower you can get this track whippin.

163-You can't have too much gas (unless your on fire) & you can't have too much track. Rarely have a problem in the trees & the tipped rails "P" make em work like a shorty on the trails.

I was the first one here with a 144" sled, now there are several after they saw or heard how mine performs. We have to ride 30+ miles before we reach the deepest powder. And the tipped up rails help while getting there. Long days of riding and busting trail for those that have shorties.

05 rev with a 159. i'm also 275 lbs, so i need the extra lift over a 151. and i can go anywhere in the trees my buddies do with their 151's

153 is a popular track for 2smoke mods b/c of its ability to generate good track speed for hillclimbs and its boodocking abilities, but it just depends on the type of riding you do. Both my sleds have 162's and LOTS OF POWER and I weigh 180lbs and do just fine with'em anywhere!!!

alot of good responses.i would have guessed that they're would be more 144's in the crowd.it seems alot like the 151's -163's.do many people jump much on the 163's or are they more likely to bend the rails ?--jim:D

I jump my 162 and its not as easy and as fun as my 141 was but went jumping up a cornice the 162 sends the sled straight up and thats a blast. Just give it hell it will jump. I love my 162 the only down fall is when its stuck its extreme stuck! Yes it is a little harder to boondock and manuever through trees compared to my 141 but it climbs a hell lot better and floats on top powder like a feather. I would rather have my 162 over my 141. But however lastwinter I weighed over 235 LBS now I weigh 190 should be interesting to see if I can still ride my 162 around like I used to.

Other than my first sled (136), I've always owned 151. I've riden every length from 136 to 162. The longer tracks turn like boats, and I prefer the 151 for its flotation and somewhat tight turning radius ...perfect for boondockin'. My newest sled is a 154 powdermax, first ride maybe this weekend.
