Will a 1050/1200 case still need to be fly cut if you were using 86mm pistons and a 68mm stroke crank?

I'm going to assume the safe answer to this question is yes, but I'd still like to hear it from someone that knows what their talking about.

Powersledder the answer is yes if they are stock watercraft cases. A stock 800 cylinder will not fit without machine work.

sea level set ups?

Hey guy's, I was just wondering what kind of good set ups(clutching /gearing/jetting) you guys are running at 0-1000'. I would greatly appreciate all your input, also let me know what kind of riding you do the track length you are running and your comp ratio /porting. Thanks allot in advance.

I've chewed through this thread a couple of times, try around page 18-20 or something. Know there is lotsa clutching discussed.

There are a couple guys on HCS who have IQR's w/1200's in them - believe they are in the UP of Michigan - maybe try there. I'm just getting mine going and my setup is a bit unique, so nothing to offer yet. As far as this thread, there were a couple guys from across the pond who were running them closer to sea level - they may have chimed in about clutching at some point.

As said above there are 2-3 guys from Norway running them at sea level and they have posted some clutching and gearing setups in this thread.

MBR44 and MBR46 on here are from MI and have 1200's and 1sleeper is running a 1200 in NY, all of these guys are running around sea level.

I am in the process of installing mine into my chassis right now. I run around 2000 feet, so once I get mine setup I may be able to help. But its going to depend on what you are running, you are going to have to supply more info to get help:

Carbs?
Track?
Clutches?

Shoot me a pm, I will let you know what we are running here in MI, Jim from NY is running way different setup than we are but he is very helpful.

Just went thru the post again and couldnt find alot of setup info for high altitude. Would anyone that has a good setup share?

I have a 159 x 2 in a gen 2 chassis tyson d&r with a 1200. Cylinders are ported and running a stock rack 40mm Mikuni to start. Jets, needles, pilots? P-85 primary and polaris or team secondary ( I have both). Need to get weights and springs ordered and would like to get as close as possible as my bailout check isnt here yet. Im not expecting someone elses setup to be perfect just wanting to get close.
From what I did find it looks like 67 to 70 gram weights, gearing in the 2.0 to 2.15 area. What size drivers are good? It will see the trails for sure but mostly boondocking and hillclimbing. I have been working on this thing for years and finally have the time to finish it. Thanks for any helpful response guys. I am 250lbs on the sled. Responsiveness and crisp arm pulling acceleration is priority!!
