nice number! should cluthc easy

Did you notice hot/cold pipe as big difference?
What RPM did it fall off at?
What carbs?

I have some 1050 Ruth cylinders and love them, one of the funnest engines I've owned. The dyno time was worth the $ to get confident on the setup and know the RPM range.

He warmed it up a little before pulling so I think they were somewhat warm. We made two pulls, first without filters made 244 at 8400 and the second I threw the filters on and it made 245 at 8400. We did some mid range testing and some low end just for A/F and fuel consumption numbers.
Torque goes from 153.3 at 8400 to 149.8 @ 8500 and 145.1@8600. Jim felt it was in great tune and the only thing we could try was timing. We both agreed that if nitrous was in the future there was no sense pushing it. I would have liked to try the xcr ignition over the ultra but it's a PITA on the IQR and requires breaking the seal on the pipes which could negate any gains IMO.

Well my WC finally died. 6500-7000 miles and the crank went out on it saturday morning.:rose::beer;
Couldn't be any more happy with this motor than I am, fuel consumption on the trail is nill, I'm at around 220km mountian ridge riding or probably a solid 10 hour ride on a tank plus 10 gallons with lots of hillclimbing and deep snow WOT time. I'd way rather trust this sled than any stocker I've ever had for reliability's sake.
Tear it down tomorrow and find out it it was just the PTO end bearings that piled, if it was I may just replace them and try to get a few more rides out of it and then buy a brand new crank and have the cases line bored for next fall. Even if the motor is done for the year and I'm out till next fall I couldn't have been any happier, 3 solid years of riding and zero failures. Brad and Lynn weren't shooting bull when they said they were bulletproof, thats for sure!:):)
Now I just know a rebuild on this thing means a rebuild, did the pistons/rings in it this fall and put on about 500-1000 miles this year and down the crank goes, now I know its a do er all at once program!:)

ultra ignition

MOB once told me that the Ultra is indeed sporty through the midrange holding 31 degrees advance for a long time (3500-7000 I believe) then crashes hard to 16 at 8k.
I checked mine at 6000 and it was indeed 31 degrees. I checked it at 8000 and it was 16.

engine install time laspe

I needed to redo the motor mounts on my King Cat 1050 watercraft since they broke. I took some pics when I was doing the work so you could all enjoy :beer;:beer;. This was MOB's sled originally and they did a nice job fitting this engine in, it lines up nice and straight.

What kind of adjustment does this give? Fully advanced vs. fully retarded?

Thanks 1sleeper

Not sure but mine is almost fully advanced and I could use a touch more so full may not be a stretch even at sea level. Maybe I'll test that. Either way, it is definitely something you should check. Take the weights out or you'll be rebuilding your clutch. ;-)

Well today was the ultimate day. The 1500 that I just finished absolutly kick some serious ***. I raced it in the dash for cash at the beaver mountian hillclimb and took first place . I couldnt be happier. I have been working non stop for 2 weeks on it know.

My first dyno run was not impressive at all as the pipes were not right. only 262 and 165 tq

Second run with a brand new set of pipes for the sled was 304 and 189 tq

3 run with some more tuneing on the pipes it ended up 326 and 200tq this biatch rocks. I will post some pics later when i get them . Smoked the turbos LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow Brad i think i really need a 1500 in my IQr chassis those ## are impressive :D:D

Yeah, I want one.........bad.
Congrats Brad, you are sick man and a true pioneer.
Now that you have it figured out, I am hopeful for a prosperous construction season so that I may be able to afford to give you large sums of my money. Any chance those pipes will fit under a stock hood?
I need some pics!

I will post some pics of the sled in a week or so when i get them from everyone. The pipes will still fit under the hood.

BTW I have a brand new set of chrome c/s 10 stampings for a iqr that i will sell now if anyones interested I have over 1800.00 in them and I will sell them for 1400.00 they are brand new just used them for testing on the 1500 and they do not work for this motor but simply the best for the 1200 if anyones interested.

Yesterday was something this was a big deal competeted against everything under the sun t nytros, 1200 dandd turbo and 1000 twisted turbos cutler turbos williamson 800 turbos I thought no way will i win but i did. The big thing with the 1500 is the holeshot unbeliveable with 200 ft tq Thats unstopable imo it was over 100 ft out of the line. Althought the cat walk I hucked I have a pic that i hucked the sled over 40ft in the air. I couldnt belive all the trash talk about this rig before I made the runs wtf is this. a tripple looks heavy to awkward I just sit back and laught .

Anyways I really havent posted any info on this cause i want to get it proved out before I really advertised it. But it is ready now I have found the magic pipe combo porting carbs electrical everything.

Brad,

That it a GREAT looking ride and VERY impressive numbers. Congrats on beating up the turbo's. Amazing that the pipes make that huge of gain......I guess that is why you test/invest.

....and I agree with sleeper, hopefully the automation market it great so I can give you some cash:D

This weekend I raced my W/C 1050 in WSA hilldrags in Duluth, MN and won he semi-pro open class. It was fun to see how it compared to other "big" sleds.

As the others have said, Congrats Brad. 326 and 200 is crazy! You need to name that thing "Turbo Killer"!

hey guys im haveing a problem with the center jug. I cant get the center or inner oring to seal keeps pressuring up my cooling systome I think may have wrong oring is the polaris part number 5411675 thanks. looking good brad

60hp wet shot would probably be perfect.
Now your talking!!!!

Indeed, Bradly has taken the whole w/c thing to another level. His stuff in now in a level of it's own. Hats off to Power Addiction!!!!!

Mtn junki have your cylinders ever been rebuilt? If so they may have turned the base and that cylinder is shorter?

I dont think so but i took a straight edge to the tops of all cylinders and they all match, the reason i was asking the oring i got from polaris looked smaller in thickness. I have replaced it twice and same thing, think that it is not fitting in groove tight enough and whene I tighten down head it is rolling the oring and pinching it. but thanks hardass
