regulator

There was some talk about running rwin cat regulators. What # ?
Look up Cat parts and find at least 3 models, 0630-105, 0630-181 and 0630-182.

Difference, or is Cat just jerking me off with 3 numbers to the same part??

RS

were the part #'s superceeded (sp?) I run twin cat regs on mine from 2001 mountain cat 800's.

Mine's done!!

Only thing left, is changing the hood to the airbrushed one.
Using the mesh hood for testing and tuning.

And alot of pollishing offcourse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Problem with the 1200

Went out testing today and the motor runs great at idle and up to 4500 rpm then the tach(digitron)stops working but motor runs fine. As soon as you pin the throttle it sounds like it drops a cylinder ... spark is really weak. Crap what a pain. Not sure what ignition this is I bought it and put it in. the brain box says ec79 on it with the three seperate coils. The spark when pulling over is very very weak. I made sure I ran a ground to every coil and to the base nuts.

Anyhelp would be great.

Looks killer ottar. Hillboy, I think some of the old triple ignition coils had the - side of the coils linked together.

First trip with the 1050 running well

I've PM a few of you guys in search of information - thanks for advice.

I got the 1050 King Cat (Mobs old sled) in good running order for 8000+ with some 38mm carbs and an ATACC system and I'm really happy with it. I'm thinking this is all the engine I will need for a while.

1. 38VM's with ATACC (base 1000 ft @ -20)
400-380-380 (P-C-M)
SLP low alt (one line) needle full lean
Q2 tube (going to update to P8 for next trip)
50 PJ (.....lackluster on very bottom)

2. Clutching was pretty easy with this sled.
Dyno session showed target rpm's (8150 peak torque / 8500 peak HP)
64g polaris arms = 8100 pulled hard
62g polaris arms = 8400 little snappier feeling did not pull as hard
White Spring 125/280 rate
Arctic button secondary 55/53, red spring, full tight

3. Improvements needed
More venting - when it "steamed" in the powder it did not want to run
Little more weight transfer for sugar snow......
Coil wiring - broke the ground wires on two coils (any idea on new $?)
Tunnel - update to Fastlane's No-Snow's - buddies were always clear.

Looking forward to president's day weekend ride in Afton!!!!!!!!!

Mob - thanks for the solid sled, I'm enjoying it :beer;:beer;

Short

Hey Hillboy, it sounds like you have a short or bare wire grounding. I had this happen with a cut wire under my guages that would touch the pipes when I closed the hood.

Anyone got or know of a 1200 for sale? Thinking of selling my current motor and buying a WC if I can find one I want.

Holy cow Brad! They just get better every build.
The king of kings, 1500 PAR triple.

Nice color selection.
Where did you get the billet A-arms? ;)

Looks sick Brad i am getting closer to finishing my 1500 as well will have to come over and run them, could any of you tell me what the best diameter of secondary would work best for this big tripple

Ben

Can you fit a WC motor with the twin waterpump into a IQr? If so which is easier the 650 style waterpump or the twin waterpump?

not a chance fitting the gen 2 recoil you will need to buy my setup to run the 650 waterpump setup. Brad

Brad's kit is "the" kit to use. Takes the pain away. Wish it was available when I built them.
