I just picked up a set of rack carbs. Who makes the rod spacers for the watercraft. What is everyone using for this? Thanks Dan

The set I just bought were 42.5. They are already on the way. I just need to stretch them. I know 1sleeper is looking for a complete rack too.

I turned my own spacer, but they can by bought directly from Polaris along with the two long metric socket head cap screws that are needed to tie the outer carbs to the center one. I also have a spi (heli-coil thread) tap and heli-coil inserts to do this job. I'll lone out the tap and sell inserts cheap, the tap will need to be returned. I don't remember if a tap drill was need or not but will lone lone that with the tap if needed. I also have a fuel tee for between the carbs that I'd sell

Me too.

Thanks for looking out for me Dan ;-)
Polarisrocks (Jim) and Fantom (Bud) do them if you have your carbs.
Do you have part numbers Tri J? I also have heli coils, what size?
Jim

Well guys, racking all three is not so hard, its just time consuming. It takes about 4 hours to get them perfect. If you start with two full sets, you can use the carb spacers( which need to to be cut to proper length) and fuel t from the other set, but that t only works with one of the carbs. The two carbs are different widths at the fuel t's. So if you get stuck with the shorter carb, cat makes a wider t that makes up the difference. Also the odd carb has a tps sensor mount and no way to seal the shafts assembly. So i use orings and grease, and a lock collar to the shaft to keeep that mess in there. You also have to deside which location/carb you want your choke and throttle cables to mount too, that will affect the location of the drift pin hole.
Also you will need two adjustable slide arms and one stationary arm so you can sync your carbs, this is for you guys that are using the left overs from a robbed set. Now you have to drill our the center carb for fuel delivery from both sided. Then you can just drill that same carb out where the allen bolts would mount the set and use a piece of 6mm all thread with a nut to mount all three.
Hope this helps, and if anyone needs shafts or have questions, shoot me a pm

thanks
Jim

hey guy's, how's it going? can the stock w/c head's be used on the 800 ves cylinders? i was just lookng at a pic of them and i see that the cover plate mounts with 4 bolts outside the cylinder it looks like, and the cumbustion chamber uses the 6 hole patern, let me know whats up, thanks in advance.

Those heads will not work on the ves cylinders they will only work on the non ves cylinders and even then you will have to drill and tap the holes on the edge of the cylinders unless you have some that are drilled it would have to be a year 2000 on those.

WC rack Mikuni needles

i found out that the needles in my racks are from a 01 800 rmk (d9efy8-61) the recommended needle is from a 04 7/800 pro xr/x2 (9dgn5-57) the rmk has a main stock from the factory of 330 and the x2/xr 460. obviously the latter is for the flat land which i run in michigan elev 400 or so. does anyone know the difference in taper? are they similar? can i run em? the 01 800 xcsp runs a 9efy02-61 and a 460 main also. thanks for the help.

You have PM.

1200

Well I have decided to build one of these and I'm almost done :) thx to all your help. Just one more thing........I'm leaning towards a turbo. Has anyone turboed one of these yet? If so any ideas?

pipes

if i were to build my own pipes out of a couple sets of twin pipes. do i look for twin race pipes or out of the book pipes. i use seperate stingers but the book pipes have a single can.

Where would be a good place to start looking at fuel injection parts for a 1050, Is it doeable on a triple, I see there is plenty of twin stuff around. Possibly scavange some throttle bodies off a big cat twin? Any help would be great

Thanks to Jim aka polarisrocks for the sweet construction and going above and beyond for my carbs. I love perfection. Thanks a ton, Dan

MBR46 is running the 5-57 needle 3.5, 50 pilots and 460 mains for now. I have yet to put mine on the snow. I will let you know what I come up with. Mine are bored 42.5 with powerjets. I am running the 5-57 4th clip and 55 pilots but I have tons of tuning to do yet. I will let you know when we are done.
