Hey, wasn't there a post or two hinting on one of these 1200's getting turbo-ed? Have we seen any pics? Was I sleeping that day?

No I asked a couple pages back. There was a T1050 runnin around WA, Lynn knows or knew about it and I think there was one in MN???

Pretty tight lipped about it thats for sure!

That will have to be my next project, 1200 w/c turbo EFI. Maybe next year. If it does turn into a reality then I will share all my experience and info unlike some people.

For those of you that have experience with these engines already, here's an idea for you to ponder.

WC DI(direct injection) Turbo

Machine one of brads heads to make it resemble the new Skidoo DI heads, use the doo injectors and something like http://diyautotune.com/ for programing and fuel mapping. Maybe make a one off billet rack style TB's.

Efficiency, power and easy tune-ability all in one package.

:beer;

not really tight lipped

Yes i have the 1050 turbo. it has 2 years worth of use with no malfunctions. the problem is lack of snow in area has hurt the ability to run massive testing.
I have ran 3 different carb combinations 3 different pipe combo's and many different timming setups. Once i have it right you will know. I can and will tell you this turboing a tripple IS nothing like turboing a twin. I ran a couple twin setups for many years with no failures and they flat worked flawlessly. I am not happy with a point it at the top sled that is boggy and unridable at anything under 3/4 throttle period. I want this sled to be totally rideable anywhere the trees, tight spots, wide open to the top, and yes this can be accomplished Lynn (4z) rode my other turbo and can vouch for this. Anybody can throw a turbo at any motor and say see i did it first. Takes a whole different type to actually make is a trully GREAT sled till i get there telling you anything will be a waste of time. YES it is damn fun and scarry at the same time I have had it up to 16 lbs of boost (can you see my smile), but testing different combo's on my 3-4 trips to the mountains each year gets a little old sometimes you just want to ride.

Please refer all ? to my publicist. haha

Ben,
Talk with Doug Ruth, he has a 1500 UBR and built Derek Smail's race winning 1500. The Jaws D stamp is the the ticket. The PSI 1500 worked well to. Give Doug a call.253.846.9304, he would love to talk to you.

Rob's turbos flat work. None of the carb aerocharger sleds that I have ridden can even come close to what his set could do. When he gets this bad boy done, it wouldn't be anything lest than perfect.

Rob, feel free to come and stay at my house for a month or so :D we can test 24/7 in the steep and deep.

I asked SLP the same question and they told me the porting is the same between '02 non-decompression and '03 decompression.
They don't need to be welded, you can tap them (4-40) through the exhaust and plug them with a set screw then peen the tapped hole so the screw won't back out.

Both my 02 and my 03 style cylinders have the same 2 holes, 1 to the inside of the ves and one from the top of the cylinder through the exhaust valve and into the exhaust port, i have 2 of each cylinder type and they all have these holes, what hole am i supposed to block and why are they all the same??? any help is good help thanks alot

02 rmk's had 1 hole. Plug that goes through the exhaust port towards the upper part of cyl. Not the hole that goes from the top where the ves valve mounts to the cyl. right above the exhaust port.

were there some late year 02 cylinders with 2 holes part #3021329, mine have 2 holes the same as my 03 cylinders part #3021339, im not sure why but they have the same 2 holes with a different part number, anybody? thanks

The #3021329 is from a 02 XC SP and apperantly has decomp, all other 02s(rmk) had #3021336. 03 and later had the #3021339 with decomp. Plug the top hole. The different part # on a similar looking cylinder might have to do with different stock porting.

Any body need a sweet cooler, I had this built last season for the 1200, it never overheated again, ever. I have over $1000 to build, need get it out of the shop. $350 plus shipping. I also have a (new)old style mag housing, recoil, and a few (new) large hrp primary springs for sale too.
