voltage regulator

What is everyone using for a voltage regulator, I cant seem to keep one working very long before it burns out.
 
stock '03 800 rmk and no extra ground,other then stock

buy the one for the electronics you use. I have a 89 650 reg. and never had a problem. there cheap and there ment for what your running.

Im not sure but I bet that your reg isnt right for your setup.

Im running all ultra stuff (ign and harness) with two AC MC regulators wired together... works perfect!
 
I still think it is the stator,i have had this problem on both polaris and a/c.

Funny ive seen the same prob with the CDI box on the domestic twins, start run fine for a few seconds then die.

Stators Ive seen do this but only when they are warm with a good heat soak (after riding for a couple miles). Then they loose spark most of the time or just run terrible, but only when they are hot!

Today I put the original stator that came with motor,started it up and it ran
about 2 minutes,long enough to think that it might work,took it outof the shop
rode it about 250-300'and it started stalling and died,got it going enough to get back to the shop.okay it runs when cold warms up and doesn't,so CDI or
STATOR,or both?

I still think it is the stator, almost impossible........but i think you have two that not work:confused:
What carburators/jetting are you running? Can it be so ritch that you kill the spark?
Disconnect the singel black wire from ignition and try without the stop functions.
I now you want to drive this thing.........so EVERYBODY....

Woody, it does come with carbs-40mm rack mikunis with power jets, a custom air box, recoil, waterpump, water rail. I have the one piece head and 2 sets of domes, 13.4 and 15.0 I will sell the motor running with the 650 indy ignition for $3800. I also have a xcr ignition, new hub fly wheel, remapped cdi, all coils and mounts, wire harness also. I can sell it anyway any one wants. I have dino sheets from this motor from this summer, it made 252 hp and 161 ft lbs on 20% race gas and 13.4 compression domes.

I have to admit i love this sled, but I have an addiction and I just want more hp.

I think I am jumping on the turbo boat and going to turbo an 09 m1000. 340 hp sounds mighty nice.

Having both a turbo and a WC 1200 its not to hard of a choice for me which one to get outta the trailer! Not saying that the turbo isnt fun but its just a diffrent animal, nothing like the big torque of the bigger cc tripple!!!!

Whats the cost for the complete ride?
 
I have thought about that. I have to just do it. I have broken 2 bulkheads, broken behond belief. I swore I wasnt going to do it again. I have heard the turbo thing is a whole new animal, but I just cant believe how well that m8 turbo of Jon Hestons went. You had to be there, it was frickin awesome, unstoppable!!!. We as a group do alot of climbing and I want something that runs as hard at the truck as it does at 8k ft. Also I have had greasy hand for a few years, I just want to add gas and ride for a few years, like the old days when the 97 700 rmk was the king of the hill. I have boxes of stuff guys.
I also have an avenger lll with black buttons that has it all, download software, water probe, 3-egts, jackshaft sensor and collar.
I have spent some money on the 2001 xcr stuff I have over $1000 in that electrical system. I have a lightweight team tss04 with a 58/40.46 and a 58/38.46 with a black white set up ready to go, low miles $175.00
I havent post it the swap meet, I want to give all you guys wanting to build, 1st dibs. This sled ran awesome, just pm R8N, he will tell ya.

I hate that hes gettin rid of this sled...wait.......its the only 2 stroke that I ride with thats faster than mine.......SELL IT and get that stocker and keep your hands clean,:p

seriously though, he has got alot of time and money into getting this setup running tops. it would be worth it to anyone building one of these to buy all the stuff that makes it go.
