The most I ever shot was 60 with a boondocker kit. Worked well, high grin factor

Just sprayed a 50 shot at my 1050, wow too much fun!!! What is the most hp anyone has put to one of these motors? is 100hp out of line with a good kit?

I ran 40,60, 75 then ended up with 100hp wet kit on the crankshop pipes. Ran good on the ice but could not get it to stop spinning no matter what I did. I then went with the higher rpm pipes that had less torque on bottom and should of turned back my timing but did not take it into consideration at the time. What worked good on one set failed on the other. Watch your timing as you ad nitrous.

The shot

In a way it seems funny that a guy has to add power to the 1050s and 1200s But i've been riding my 1200 for the last month and am completely use to the power that it makes, And actually it not enough it should be but it;s not. It;s always an endless chase for more. it sure is fun to ride though.

For everyday riding, not racing, you are reaching the end. What I mean by that is once you have adapted to riding the 1200 and gone as far as you can go with power adders (nitrous) you still want more or just change direction. Twister (Rob) has taken the next step and is light years ahead with his turbo 1050. 10 psi on watercraft and you are makeing BIG power.

I just noticed Indy Dan stocks w/c parts on his ebay page. I wish these high quality parts were available when I first started building these motors.

Ill give you a hint who makes Dans parts, his name starts with Brad. Oh:D That turbo sounds like the next step for the 1200. We all share setup and critical info and pics why is twister holding out? I will share my ? marks with ya.

Well I have definately have been sold on these motors from everyones input. I have ordered my block crank and plate from Brad. Got the sled out of the shed and into the driveway. I am curious though about this turbo watercraft motor. Who has it what kind of power is it making etc. Brad are you doing this also what turbo Just a bunch of how to questions.

well I broke the mag housing plate off. Noticed it was loose so i turned back rode all the way to the parking lot. had to load it by hand. flywheel was bount up to much. Heres what it looked like when I pulled it off.

I love this sled. It didnt do any damage to the stator!!!!

Brad.....can ya fix this????:D

LOL...downer...I suppose this means you want my kids' Phazer again?...;)

If Brad cant get me one by the 5th of April can I put a 100 shot of nos on your boys sled and take it to the shootout? :p

For just playing around it has plenty of power, but we do alot of lake racing and you need all you can get to stay competitive

So far traction isnt an issue, I have about 280 chissels and catapults on a speed track, I am going to go the the MSD ign before I put a big shot at it so I can control timing a little better.

Nice one Daryn:D I did the same thing a couple weeks ago. If I would have rode McCall it would have happened that weekend:eek: I will be checking mine every ride.

MSD ignitions

Does anyone know if MSD makes a ignition system for the 1160/1200 motors, and do they last, looking into buying one if it rids the flywheel issues. Also whats the price tag on the system?

From what I know the MSD unit has no lighting coil. You would still need a mag housing to mount your water pump and recoil to. These mag housing that are failing are the old style 4 bolt units, the new one uses like 7 bolts and requires no mag end case machining, much better fit. I have seen the MSD total loss systems on watercraft based motor so its not impossible but if I remember right they are kinda pricey (over $1000).

the msd ignition also has to have a 12 volt battery to run once it is dead you also loose spark so it is not practical to use if you are using it to ride. just buy the new mag housing setup that i make i have had zero failures to date. Brad
