Cummins 6.7L Mileage????

Thread Rating
5.00 star(s)
1 gallon [US, liquid] = 3.785411784 liter

1 imperial gallon = 4.54609 liter

When converting you have to use the US gallon to the liter.

All I know is gas and diesel is still a he!! of a lot cheaper south of the border...even with the 1.243 exchange rate! We are still paying $1.21 a liter for diesel in BC which is $4.58 a (US) gallon. I saw fuel in Washington for $2.59 a gallon! http://www.washingtongasprices.com/index.aspx?fuel=D

$2.59 per gallon x exchange of 1.243 is still only $3.22 a gallon Canadian.

My 06 5.9 auto/3:73's with 35" tires consistently gets 21mpg empty and got 15.4 pulling my Interstate 19' enclosed at 70+mph on the last road trip.

The truck is completely stock except for a Bully Dog Triple Dog set on tow/economy.

I do believe that the big 3 auto makers would get more public support for a bale out if they had not been turning the screws to us in so many ways.Like building new trucks(all 3)that are getting harder on fuel, but supposedly better on emmisions(environment).Just pumping more fuel through them doesn't make sense to me,why not make them more efficient on fuel should mean less polution and less cost to the consumer. So they screw us on fuel(more $$$ to run'm),prices always go up to buy them(more $$$ on us),now they want us(tax payers) to feel for them and there hardship and bale them all out,no one is baling me out for my investments totally sucking as of late,so like the rest of us,grin & bare it!!Lets all just go play in the snow before the greenies shut that all down too!!!Sorry, just having a make sense of it all moment!!!

You hit it dead on! Liberals want the government to hand everything to them. Its totally wrong, and it sucks!

If volkswagen can improve emissions and increase power and at the same time increase mileage by 10% then why not the big 3. and they wonder why they are in trouble.

I honestly get 1100km (hiway)to a tank of fuel with the 03' I have, that works out to about 26m/g.I thought that was pretty much the norm for the 03' 5.9L.For those that are mathmatically challenged, that is 1100km= 735miles,and a 128L tank = 28.2gal,so 735/28.2 = 26.06m/gal Canadian. I do all my calculations from fill ups, I use the trip meter for reference only.Thanks.

For you that are mathmatically challenged....1100 km is 683.7 miles, not 735. 128L is 33.8 US gal. So 684/33.8=20.2 mpg. Which is believeable. When you post up a number, please make sure to state weather it's canadian or US. There is too many different volume units out there. Most people I know go by US gal.

Ahhh... Can (Canadian) gallon, so, if my cipherin is right, that's about 21.7 mpg (US gallon).

Am amazed at the mpg some people can get out of diesels... I owned two, and never came close to what others were saying. 00 Ford 7.3, and 05 Cummins 5.9... driving 60 mph w/ either, I could maybe get 16-17, but if it was cold, if was a headwind, or if I was driving normal for me :D it'd be in the 14 mpg range.

Pulling sleds and going out west, always dropped to 10-11 mpg.

Nomad

I have an 07 5.9L Cummins auto. I get 16-17 in town and 19-21 on the highway depending on speeds. I went from MN to WA and averaged 19.8 with the cruise set at 70 mph. At 60 mph, I can get 21+ mpg.

I put the H&S 5" turbo back egr block off modified the airbox on my '08 with 37's getting about 16mpg not to sure don't have the speedo recalibrated yet. no programmers yet.
Did the stage 1 H&S dpf and cat delete on my cousins '08 unplugged the egr and he is running the edge juice w/att. and the mp-8 getting over 21 mpg he can turn off the mp-8 and watch the miliage go down.
****ty thing about these new trucks is they require as much modifications as a sled to accually run worth a ****.

I have a H&S stage 1 DPF kit for sale I had to buy three kits to become a dealer will sell for cost plus shipping. $460.00 + shipping PM if interested.

We Average 19 in town 22 hwy 12 loaded 40' trailer VERY loaded From Oregon to AK and FL and back

Equipt Juice w/ Att
DPF Delete 5" Turbo Back

6" Lift 35" Tires
AFE Intake +++++

06' Cummins

I have a 06 2500 quad(K&N intake) with 85K, highway is 20-23mpg. Took about 40,000 to get over 20. Pulling 15K #'s my average is 12-14. This thing has been bullet proof so far. Have been using Mobile 1 5-40 sythentic since it was new.:D

See sig for my setup.

I run 18ish with a heavy foot like this. Before I took all the junk off, I would get 15ish traveling 90-95. 18ish 70-75.

For those who have a 06 5.9 or older. Look at a smarty.

Great site for information on Cummins. What works and what does not work.

I just picked up a Smrty Jr for my 07 5.9L. I LOVE IT!!! I am a member on cumminsforum.com. It's a great site.

PS: Why does your sig here say you have a 1T and your sig on CF say you have a 3/4T? You have 2 trucks or what?

Yes. :)

:beer;

How about 10-11????? 3 tank fulls in 600 miles and averaged 10.8 penciled out. Stock with 5,000 miles. 07.5 with the 6.7. I am pulling an open 15' trailer that weighs about 3500lbs so that shouldn't affect it, should it? Didn't really affect my Ford. This trip was all interstate with cruise set at 75.
