Hey Husky, I was up the yesterday aswell which sled were you on, or maybe I talked to you I had three others with me all polaris sleds and i was riding a Dragon just wondering if I talked to you because I asked a few people how to get to the superbowl exactly because i kinda forgot how to get up there

Hey Shred
Wasn't up there...long story but gist of it is the g/f wrecked my truck sat night so didn't go out. I am off traveling for a couple of weeks but we'll have to meet up once i'm back. I also ride a lot over in Lillooet country and have a place at the turn off to Crowsfoot.
Oh how were the conditions?
Derek

Hey Derek,

Itching to go....let me know when you are back!!!Hope the trucks not too bad.
Remember ,a good truck is hard to find,Girlfriends can be rented:D!!!

Just joking,Braylorne this year !!:beer;:beer;

Husky, the snow conditions were really good considering what it was like a few days ago compared to 10k. about another 3 feet had fallen i think and it was wetter, heavier snow so it will hopefully be building base now since to was warmer. But, it was about id say 4 or more feet i think maybe 5 im not too sure but it was great.

Rode the Coq today. A lot more snow since last time now only 4 steps showing at the Henning cabin.

We knew that the Super bowl would be a place to keep an eye out for Avalanches and that is exactly what happened when a rider tried to go over the top.

His sled came from the top to the bottom and when it reached the bottom undamaged we then noticed the avy following the sled. It was lucky for the rider that his arm was above the snow from his elbow. One of our group got to him quickly after his 800' or so ride down the hill. Cleared the snow from his face and dug him out.

There was another smaller avy off to the side as well and that rider deployed his avy bag and stayed on the surface.

Lets remember to be safe in the back country people, use your beacons and ride with the best protection you can. Things ended on a good note with these events but as we have all heard lately things can go bad in a hurry.

Later.....

might be heading out this weekend.... anyone know how far you can make it to 10k? we went on the 23rd of december and you couldnt make it past the bowl right after the cabin but i imagine it will be deeper and have a small base to it now but i just want to play it safe....

thanks for any help!!

I think by the way the snow is comming down I would avoid 10 k for now.Even in that bowl there is a cornice that builds in the corner that has come down on us a few years back.....we were lucky.:D:beer;

Here is a pic of just past the 10k cabin. Lots of slides. This was taken on friday. I hope the pic works.
