We went up to the Coq yesterday and it was a great time. We took the kids and they had a hoot in the gravel pit at the Britton rest area.
A couple of us went up to the Henning cabin and the trail up was OK but not much snow, the cabin has about 7 steps up to it.
It was -19 without wind chill.
We need a couple more feet for sure before the riding will be good but it was sure nice to get out and no Toll plus cheaper diesel and a good weiner roast with the kids in the parking lot made for a great day.

I was up there today. Went up Henning, as we were there mainly snowboarding but did explore a bit. 5 others were up there ... all new dragons or xp's and they were going all over the place. They didn't seem to worried about hitting stuff i guess. i hit a rock and went over the bars taking my now busted windshield with me. Definitely way better than last week tho. Snowing last few days.

We were up the yesterday.... definitely need more snow. Was hard to keep to the trails! If anyone recognizes this picture , they will understand the amount of snow that has been in the past... and what is still needed. I also attached a couple of pix of some areas we were in!

I think you missed the pics.

I went up today and we made it to the 10k cabin. great powder around there but there is a good chance that you will hit something(rocks or logs/stumps) that are just below the surface. south of the cabin and down is a great playing area. About 4 feet at the 10k cabin give or take alot because of the wind. NO BASE!! trail and first clearcut STAY ON THE TRAIL!!!too many stumps to risk it. the 2nd bowl(right after the cabin) is great but needs way more snow. we made it in the furthest but someone will beat us fore sure.

hope this helps!!!

Finally the snow gods are dumping snow on the mountains instead of the Island.

If the forecast is correct we should see about 90cm fall on the Coq. by Dec. 30.

That should get things going!

Keep up the snow dance!!

road the coke today, we went to 10k still need alot more snow, not very good base and lots showing in places, found a couple nice powder hills to play on, stayed to the roads mainly not a bad first trip.

We rode Henning on boxing day. Still need lots of snow but we did have a good ride.

The trail up is good with only the usual icy corners but even they were pretty good.
From the cabin we went up to the super bowl and dropped in. Then we went thru the Super Bowl and up the right side to the top of the ridge. There was about 2 to 3 feet of powder but no base.

We then dropped down thru the trees towards Tyne mountain and it was a great time.

It was a good shakedown for the sleds with a few hills to try out the new clutching and DJ's Q11 clutch kit rocks IMO.

Hope to go again tomorrow if the snow gods help out.

I will be going up to henning tomorrow but not really sure on the area i only rode there once last year because 10k was too fogged and i mostly ride 10k thyne, and honeymoon areas but what direction is the superbowl from the cabin on henning because im gunna try it up there or if anyone is riding up there tomorrow they could maybe show me and a few others up to the superbowl

It is quite easy to get to the super bowl from the Henning cabin.

If you are standing in front of the cabin facing it look to your left and that is the trail to the super bowl.

Go down that trail until you come to a open hill on your left, continue on past the first opening and then you will see a trail going up on the left that makes a hard left up about 40 or 50'.

Take that trail up the hill and you will arrive at a spot where there is a short open hill on your left and trees on your right. Look ahead to the trees and at about 11:00 you will see a trail follow it uphill and it curves to the right you will be at the entry to the super bowl.

Ride down to the bottom continue thru the super bowl to the far end and you will see a trail up to the left that opens up and you will see a fairly large hill ahead.
Climb it and you are now on the ridge. Lots of meadows to play in and lots of powder usually.

Good luck.

heres a pic of my little bro on christmas eve up in 10k we droped down to the second bowl north of the cabin and there was 5 feet of powder with of course no base was a bit hard for his 144 800 to keep up with me and my older bro one our dragons

called the lakes lodge on the coke and he said it was raining there for about an hour really heaviny then turned to snow and they got about 7"... so the base is starting but is still freezing!!!

was up at the cabin at 10k yesterday and what a sight... i had to see it for myself and the rumors were true! where the hell is all the snow??? i could see grass!!! something major needs to happen up there before i go back!
