Conquer 280?

I usually press with one finger and stick two in...you want it to be a struggle to get your fingers in there, but if it's too tight you need to slow down and reassess the situation.

That sounds like a perfect method :face-icon-small-win

did you change your driver for 3" pitch?

Yes. I have Wahl Bros 3" pitch drivers and Wahl Bros anti stab kit.

IMO that track looks way to loose. AXYS slack measurement is 5/8-3/4 inch (1.6-1.9 cm) With a 10 lb. (4.54 kg) weight on the track, Measurement Location 16 inches (40 cm) ahead of rear idler shaft. Eric

I have always ran no slip drivers, and have never tightened it to Polaris measurments, i have tried, but i think the rolling resistance and tightness feels way to high. Never had a issue with the track ratcheting when adjusted like this.

We need more rider reviews! :) Is this track worth the $ or? :)

X2. Trying to decide between this and the X3. So far I think I am getting the 280 but would like to hear real world experience. I know it's still early in the season though.

Put 40+ miles on yesterday, have the 156" 280, mostly trail miles but found a few areas with 3-5' blown in to play around on. I thought it worked really well.

Is it worth $800 + $220 in drivers if your stock 2.6" is in good shape? Probably not, the 2.6 I was with seemed to work very well.

the X3 is HEAVY compared to all the new'er tracks. If it was me, I would either do the 280 or the factory option Polaris 3 inch. Ive ran both the x3 and polaris 3", but not the 2.6 track. Going to run the 2.6 this year and see how it works. Eric

How did the x3 compare to the poo 3" ? I was going to go with the x3 because I heard the poo 3" wasn't holding up.

I replied to your PM... But Ill add some info here about durability. I put 1100 miles on my 163x3 last year and I didnt tear or damage a single lug on it. Nor did I have any of the inside track wear that some people had on the 2.6 and 3.0. With that said, I think all of these deep lug single ply tracks can be damaged easy if your not careful about not spinning your track on logs and rocks. Eric

Both the 2.6 and the 3.0 behaves very differently between rider styles. If you are more of a hillclimber guy then a technical sidehiller/treehugger then the track will hold up.

But when you are in steep terrain/technical tree terrain the track gets beaten up very fast. Its just due to how its constructed with its missing outer "steering nobs" for the hifaxes.

My track has 800 miles on it and its finnished. Especially the inside has gotten so much beating that its just not safe to continue use it.
But i do mostly tree riding so thats a factor to why its beaten.

Had to change hifaxes, rear wheels 3/4 into last season. Proper tension all the time on track so thats not the problem.
Now i've removed the rear suspension to do some service and im also waiting for my new Camso 280 track. And i also see that one of the upper wheels have been bent.
My new hifaxes also starts to look they've grinded unevenly due to the track lets itself "banana" out when sidehilling.

I really hope the 280 track dont lack in the durability department...

Does anybody have instal wahl driver on a 2017!axis with drive belt and 2,6 track im lookin for the parts number to order it but i dont find it

I have the 280 162 3.0 pitch center drive installed and rode in dry bottomless pow and 20 inches of powder with a good base. I am also fighting some other sled issues so only about 80 miles worth of time on it, but have been able to form an opinion. The track hooks up well and floats as good as the 2.6 from what I can tell. What I do notice is that it doesn't seem as playful as the 2.6 did or feels stiffer I suppose.

Overall I am satisfied, but will be interested to see how it changes with a few miles on it. Short version, I like it. Is it a MAJOR improvement over the 2.6...certainly has potential. Depends on how well it holds up.

I have the 280 in 154 3.5" pitch on a 13 155 pro. I had it in u.p. Michigan last week and spun it over quite a few logs and rocks and don't see any damage to it yet. I probably have 200 miles on the track so far. I did notice more vibration through the running boards on the trail and I know it's not a trail sled, it's just a side effect of the 6 tooth drivers, wide pitch spacing I suppose. The snow wasn't quite deep enough to tell how it will do when it gets real deep. I have been hearing some like it and some say it trenches. So far I like mine I just hope it can hold its own out west.

I got a 156/3.0 pitch track with avid no-slip wheels and anti-stab axle. I've only ridden 75miles with it so far, but man i do like it! Really snappy and fun track. Likes to wheelie alot and be really playful.
Cant say that it trenches more then the former Series 7 experience i had. That was a heavy trencher and i cant feel the same effect on this track.

But only 75 miles so need more time on it. Soon the sled is going to have a mtntk turbo on it also :bounce:
