Yes it is a direct fit, the axys 155 3" is actually a 156.
155 & 163 / 3" tracks are actually 156 & 162 3" 3 pitch tracks, the 280 3 pitch is a direct replacement.
155 & 163 2.6 tracks are 2.86 pitch so you do need to switch drivers. The 163 2.6 is getting swapped out for the 280 165 3.5 pitch 6 tooth drivers, the 162 3p is is tight on the 163 2.86p rails. Not sure what works on the 155 2.6, but I would think the 280 156 3p would fit.
That's exactly what I did but mine was originally the 163 2.6" so I bought iceage bomber rails and 3p drivers with steel shaft out of a chaincase model. From my understanding the 3p works better than the 3.5p in the 280 series but that is yet to be determined.
It would be nice to put together a cheat sheet / quick reference guide for guys when changing tracks and staying with stock rails.
Basically,
X3 do this ......
280 do this ......
and so on.
So a guy can eliminate the repeat threads on the same track combo question.
And make it a sticky, along with different gear ratios with sprocket size, axys gears, or pro gears. Example pro quick drive gears and axys belt with 3p 7 tooth drivers would be a 2.27 overall gear ratio and should work great with this 280 series track.

This is the type of information that really makes a forum worth coming back to.
About 300 miles on the conquer280 so far this season. Switched after a couple rides on the 2.6. My stock drivers were shot and the 2.6 track was falling apart as well so made the switch to Avid's, IceAge antistab, and Conquer.
At Haydays Camso employees recommended to us to not run the 3.5" pitch on a boosted setup. That the 3" pitch would work better.
So I switched from a 2.86" pitch to a 3" pitch.
155" to a 156". Adjustment is about 2/3 of the way back and I'll note that I'm running IceAge Bomber rails with the bigger wheels as well.
So feedback, after running my stock track a couple rides and now the conquer the last 7 rides or so, I'm absolutely loving this track. It was a bit of a learning curve with rider input but it honestly felt similar to slimming up your front end. Side to side it is very predictable and doesn't wash out as much as my 2.6" did. Rode some very wet heavy snow here recently and it was even better.
I haven't ridden anywhere that didn't have a base other than then the wet heavy snow recently.
Biggest negative I've seen so far, downhill braking, forget about it. Elevators are your best friend with this track.
Other than that, durability has been great, or at least not any worse then the stock 2.6" and performance has been awesome. It is definitely softer now then it was when I first put it on. Paddles fold over pretty easy. Looking forward to my 2 week long trip to BC here next week. Then I'll have some great or not so great feedback!!

I can update with some Revelstoke and Sicamous riding impressions. Anyone that has ridden in Sicamous Eagle area can attest to how steep it is. This track flat out kicked ***!! I loved it in the steep and technical terrain that Sicamous offers. With those steep hills it would hold a line very well and elevator when I needed it to. It wouldn't trench and loop the sled out, instead just keep climbing. Revelstoke with it's epic pow and drainages were a different sort of challenge with tons of cutting in different directions and deep snow. As the snow gets deeper and you are upwards of 3'+ feet of fresh the track searches for that base. 3 days ago I rode it in over 3' of fresh with no base at all due to the -30F temps this area sees regularly and it still performed very well.
I now have over 700 miles on the track and am missing a couple chunks from the paddles due to tree riding and running logging roads in BC. Nothing out of the norm for today's tracks IMO. The paddles are very very soft since it is well past it's break in. When I originally had the sled on the deck the paddles didn't fold over at all. Now they are soft and pliable.
All in all, I'm liking this track a lot. I plan on running it next year on my new build out of the gate.

Hoping cutting the rails and anti stab kit will give the clearance needed.

Umm that has nothing to do with the track.
Simply extrovert drivers being larger and in line with the rails.
If you wanted to avoid that you should’ve bought the introvert avid drivers with the center extrovert. (And cut it down or punched your track)
