You guys do realize that this is the side you are defending, don't you?

Jared Taylor choked a man until he blacked out.
Steven Brown fired a .38 Special during a confrontation with his fiancée.
Tom Bernardson punched a man so viciously that he put him in the hospital with a concussion.
All three were convicted in Minnesota courts.
And all three still work in law enforcement.
For an example of some of the things I'm against, rather than picking "sides", here you go:
At some point, it's got to be about the fact that there are things that happen that shouldn't. We (ostensibly) have control over one side in those encounters, since we employ them.

Really, none of those have to do with violent police?None of these examples have ANYTHING to do with what we are even talking about.
So there you go.

With the advent of dash cams, vest cams, upstanding citizens and other officers with iPhone-video... What has been in the dark with the bad police officers of are country is now brought into the light.
The blue wall of silence is getting weaker... to protect those bad apples, it's getting more and more difficult.
And the good officers, that represent the MAJORITY of officers in the USA... they will now have the ability to come forward against the rare thugs-in-blue that put a stain on the badges of all officers. Like in the case of the Detroit officer William Melendez....atrocious conduct.
I have family members and good friends that are good police officers... and one that should not be wearing the uniform IMO... I pray for them ALL.
Cops DO need guns in our country... Plain and simple, our Police officers need the tools required to do their jobs within the bounds of the law.
I do however agree that you would have to have your eyes closed and only want to justify a contrary point to see, in video after video of these "bad apples" getting exposed, that this is "Not an issue".... Bring it into the light.
One of my favorites "And from the one trusted with much, much more will be expected." L-12:48
Also plain and simple, respectful compliance with officer directions has been shown time and time again, in court cases, and video to NOT guarantee treatment within the code of conduct that officers accept as a part of their job.
THIS is what many NFL players and many NFL team owners/mgmt are protesting... and using their voice and position to do so.
.
Pretty sure I have not implied that all cops are good.
We all realize that is not the case.
Do any of those encounters involve their actions while on duty? With a suspect?
I agree with Bill here for a change.
There are still a significant number of bad apples... and they will be brought to justice hopefully... for the sake of our nation and our citizens.
I, for one, am glad that this issue has been brought 'front and center' in such a public way.
Agreed. Say what you will, but the protests have obviously accomplished quite a lot.

Don't look it up, but guess how much contemporary support Dr. Martin Luther king Jr. had.Honestly, I would bet that it has increased feelings of resentment between blacks and whites.
It sure as hell hasn't brought them closer together.
In the world of protests....it's actually a great one. Simple, peaceful and getting lots of attention. The fact that a bunch of middle aged conservative white dudes don't understand it/don't like it is kinda the point...
Or....that's indicative of how serious the issue is, and how strongly he (and many others) feel about it. It's not like he's protesting increased happy meal prices, but rather some seriously baseline stuff. But he's protesting issues that don't affect you, and most others upset by it. That's the division....his protest (whether sucuessful or not) has no affect on you (just for example), so it's just an annoyance. So you pump the flag thing to make it sound like he's just a dick. The fact he is getting a ton of publicity and support is a thorn in the side of those who don't get it....sadly with Donny T doing his thing, many people seem to have renewed justification with their ignorance. The reason it's getting the attention is because it's so disrespectful.
The only place that I can think of that would be more disrespectful and inappropriate would be a church or funeral.
The time and place is so distasteful.
To think this is ok means that you simply do not understand the level of respect we hold for our flag and Anthem.
Do you think what he is protesting is really affecting the protester?! Just asking..?Or....that's indicative of how serious the issue is, and how strongly he (and many others) feel about it.
