Colin Kaepernick - what a loser

Obey the law enforcement officers and this all but goes away.
Way more effective than dividing our citizens loyalties.
If you feel that you were treated wrongly, pursue it in the appropriate manner. There are many lawyers out there chomping at the bit to make a name for themselves that will take these cases pro bono.

So when a black guy is being respectful, lets the cop know he has a gun legally in his car, respectfully, and tries to get his license registration as instructed by the cop, & and the cop still shoots him dead, how is he supposed to protest being treated in an inappropriate manner?

If you ask me, cops are trained to be trigger happy. I'll probably get flak for saying it, but shoot to kill should not be the norm. Cops are trained to think the worst about anybody & everybody, and for some reason, they think the very worst about black men. I understand cops might get spooked. They're human. We don't want robot law enforcement. But most folks, if you shot 'em in the shoulder would get the point.

I think tasers should be used before firearms for multiple reasons. Having a split second to make a decision about someone's life is a terrible place to be. There's also the risk of hitting innocent bystanders behind the target. When you see videos from an officers camera and see how much they are shaking and the panic in their voice. It's not an ideal state to be in when shooting a hand gun. Which I guess again goes back to more training being needed.

Adding more decisions in a very short time frame would not be good.

Ok, how do other countries police departments manage to not kill people all the time then?
Comparison of countries
The way in which firearm use is recorded varies from country to country, however there is a frequent measurement of people wounded and people killed in many countries and this forms a basis for comparison.

Country----------Number killed per 100 million people----Year
South Africa--------------------634------------------------2013-2014
United States-------------------342------------------------2016
Denmark------------------------71--------------------------2006
Netherlands---------------------18--------------------------2015
Austria---------------------------12--------------------------2011
Germany------------------------12--------------------------2015
France---------------------------6---------------------------2012
England and Wales-------------5---------------------------2015-2016
Australia-------------------------4--------------------------2012-2013
Finland---------------------------0--------------------------2012-2013
Norway--------------------------0---------------------------2014

I wouldn't put too much stock into that stat. Police in some of those countries have killed more terrorists per year than what they have listed as a total.

You got a better number, I'm all ears. Look at the years, those aren't all from the same year.

You're honestly going to quibble a few numbers, rather than the general trend?

Here's where I got those numbers, you're welcome to dig in to the original sources if you want.
(I thought I posted this the first time)

I'm not even necessarily going to argue the race part of this, though most minorities are killed at a higher rate than whites.
Too many people are killed by police in this country, period!

If you want to talk trends. Look at the US police shootings from 2016. Overwhelming majority involve threatening/lunging at police with a knife and pointing a gun at police or bystander. At that point if I was a cop I wouldn't worry too much about tazing them.

Go ahead and feel bad about that if it gives you a warm fuzzy.
Honestly I am far more bothered by the number of police being killed.

I place a far higher value on the life of a cop than the life of someone that decides they do not need to listen to an officer's instruction.

Yeah, to hell with the constitution. Who needs it anyway?

I think the stats for the United States for 2016 were 135 officers killed, a little over 1000 killed by officers and about 250 of those were African American. That is a higher per capita death rate for African Americans but is still a relatively low number and hardly points to systemic racism. Feel free to fact check me on these numbers but I think they are close.

I'm not very good at searching.
Would you please find where in the Constitution it says that following direction of a law enforcement officer is optional.

I simply was unable to find it.
Thanks buddy!

It appears that Michael Bennett's claims were bogus....

https://t.co/q6BAs10nSe

Why was he arrested and cuffed rather than the mass of white people he was running with? Maybe, just maybe because he is a big black guy?? The simple fact that this guy was cuffed and stuffed with a gun to his head backs up EXACTLY why the NFL protests are happening. They stopped him out of the crowd because he was a big black guy who was "running with a purpose". The cops took in two other randoms with no cause either in this incident, guess what, a black man and a Hispanic. Neither of them are famous football players so your excellent source doesn't mention that. Why didn't they arrest a white guy who was "running with a purpose"?? I'm sure plenty were.

You continue to reference far right sources with as much credibility as the national enquirer as gospel because they say what you want to hear..

Doesn't change the fact that he lied to increase the divide.
That is the point I was making Mr Spinmeister!

No problem.

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Thanks,
I'm not up on legalspeak, but I cannot find anything there that can be interpreted as to giving the right to resist arrest?
That's what I'm just not seeing?
