Chain case life Gen 5

It's a design and manufacture issue. It's actually quite surprising how few Chinese parts they use.

Look at how little material there is between the teeth and the hub of the sprocket. They also appear to have switched to sintered metal construction. It wasn't very long ago they had much more meat in this area and/or were machined.

It's the result of people demanding lightweight and them trying to cut costs.
I completely agree with this. It is now time for BRP to step up with a solution for its customers. We need to regain confidence to take the expensive toys into the backcountry. Good for the heli industry!

They aren't going to do anything. They won't admit there is a problem. If they did they would have to fix them all. The percentage is probably low enough that they will fix the ones that go under warranty and do something under the radar for the 24s. Just like polaris and their crappy wiring harness.

Could someone that knows please post a list of Part names and numbers from the 2022 G4 Turbo Expert Fiche that would be needed to complete a solid axle conversion on the G5?

Here is my start:
  1. Drive Chain, 116 Links, Sku: 504153759
  2. Sprocket 21 Teeth, Sku: 504154188

  3. Sprocket 53 Teeth
    Sku: 504154167

  4. Drive Axle Ass'y
    Sku: 504154023
Thank you kindly, I am a advanced beginner wrencher and def need expert support before I jump over the fence and tear down the sled. KO

If someone has the Lynx parts instead....would take those!

Well I wanted to believe it was just internet hysteria but the reality of this cheap chain train wreck just bit me in the ass. Best day of the year ruined. $1,200 Heli bill because I can't get parts. I serviced my case just a week ago and pulled it all apart. No rub marks anywhere, oil was decent, zero signs of damage to any components. Checked chain tension every morning. And then BOOOM. Just shy of 1k miles on my sled. From the very bottom of my heart fuku BRP IMG_4950.jpeg

Ok, yes, the gears have to match the chain... But the shafts are the same. Any shaft will fit you, to you just have to have to the right set to match the shaft. Been listed several times across forums....
Maybe this helps,

I am aware of what parts are needed, I did the solid driveshaft swap already.

What were the circumstances of the failure?

Looks to me guys are sharing the same picture over and over and trying to make the problem look bigger than it is ?wonder if he got up to the recommended amount of adjustment turns ?
This is unreal I can’t believe brp hasn’t recognized this issue publicly. There’s no chance I’d purchase another skidoo until this problem is addressed. I’d be scared to take one out to the backcountry

Dave Norona doesn't seem to want to correct your chain tightening procedure any more. Wonder why???

Just checked belt, clutchbelt, and chain tention last night. Was reading the forums about chain failures and tought it was skidoo only, because Lynx is sisu and got stronger chain. chain held up bottom gear naded. I think the spline system is junk and will get a TKI fix for the axle
