BWear vs. TekVest

Thread Rating
5.00 star(s)
I have been told that many guys here use BWear.
On the more eastern snomo fourms I'm having trouble find many people who have any experience with BWare - other than those who are trying to sell me a BWear :)
I will not be racing - just mainly trail riding.
Does anyone have experience with both BWear and TekVest and would be will to give me your thoughts as to how the two compare?
Thanks!!

I have a Tek vest and like it on cold day's it give's you a little extra
protection from the windchill. Although i have not used the B-Wear vest i've
heard it is more comfortable then the Tek vest.

I will be purchasing a BWear vest this season. I am told they are alot mroe comfortable.

I just got my Tekvest, seems very comfortable and cant seem to find any movement restrictions with it on. Mind you I haven't taken it sledding yet.:beer;

thats weird the link worked before?

just type in "bwear tekvest" and the links will show up

I guess because people have responed to this thread the seach addy has changed

I have the B-Wear and I won't ever ride without it. In the spring I have ridden with my MX chest protector, it didn't offer as much protection, and was real hard to stay comfortable with a backpack.

Once you get it sized right, the B-Wear fit me great. The first size I got was too large (I overestimated my size... not the first time lol, and my armpits hurt when I put my arms together. I had to go down a size but F-Bomb proved again that he has great customer service and got a different one to me quick! The smaller size is much much better. Note that the tek-vests don't cover the same as the B-Wear, well except for the pro model...

It took me a little while to get the B-Wear fitted to me too. I curved some of the body panels to more closely represent... um... me..:D After I did that, the fit has been great, and with a backpack on, it makes my torso feel solid and protected, yet I can easily maneuver around with it.

I also like the fact that any chest protector is a good windblocker and keeps you very warm. For most riding, I have a tight wicking layer, the vest, and then my non-insulated coat. I am fine for most riding conditions, but you should note that I am in the Cascades, and the temps are normally in the 20-30's, not the cold like the Rocky's can have.

Hope this helps.

Haven't tried a b-wear yet, but I ride with (and won't ride without) a tekvest. MX armor would work better than nothing, but as mentioned above they're uncomfortable with a pack.

So... +1 for Tekvest.

After two rides, I couldn't even feel my Bwear anymore...HANDS down the best vest I've ever worn...Would'nt ride without one EVER again...

Have not used a Bwear but it does look comfortable. I have been using the tekvest for 3 years for snocross and it's light and comfortable. Wouldn't ride without it.

I a tekvest trial pro. I do not ride with out it. From what i know/heard it is warmer then a bwear vest. I however find this great as when im out west riding i can switch to a lighter suit and still be warm coming down the hill at the end of the day. Plus whiel riding at home when it gets to - 50c with the windchill i can still venture out for a few hundred miles and never get cold.

I have full mobility while riding even while wearing a pack. The tekvest help distribute the load of your pack so it does not dig in you shoulders. I also find it add some support to the back and lowerback so now im not nearly as sore as I used to be.

rather be a smart arse than a dumb chit..;) besides I'll never change.LOL

what you thinking about switching BD? Daddy going to buy you a new one?

I've tried both.
The tek vest was more ridged and for me, uncomfortable.
The B-wear vest is much more adjustable, thus you can adjust it to fit your body better than the tek-vest.

As for heat, the Tek-vest was much hotter to ride with. The B-wear is cooler to ride with. I ride with it under my Klim coat.

Of the two, I own the B-wear. Won't ride without it.
