Buying American Made save your future

With a name like skidooer I should be the first to say I am guilty. I am ready to start buying and suppurting as many USA based companies As I can. As long as the product is comparable then buy in the USA. People in our country need production to increase so they can go back to work. Don;t givr me any **** about well the snowflap bolts for my yahmaha was made in usa. Just buy a Polaris or Artic Cat. You know they are Anerican companies paying Anerican workers in American fectories. Hell their kids are in school with your relatives kids. Try that with a product of Japan or Canada.

HAVE SOME PRIDE IN THE USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!STOP BUYING YAMAHA, SKIDOO,

THe economy you save just me be the one that saves you.

I bought polaris for a long time. Got tried of wrenching every night, being broke down and the joke warranty

I was in need of a new pair of work boots, Have had real good luck with Rockys before but all seem to be made over seas now:(

I found some Danner boots that fit well & felt good, So I know Danner is a high doller American Made company right? Like a Dumb Arse I dropped $160.00 on a good pair of Danner boots not looking to see where they where made. 2 days later I'm looking @ the box & packaging sent with the boots..... Made in FRIGGEN CHINA!!!!!!

That is the last time it will happen to me!

I always try to buy american made, Sleds, trucks, but man its tough with almost everything being made elsewhere

Fug I guess I'll have to start riding skidoo and stop shopping at Walmart? I wouldn't trade my Yamaha for a Cat or Polaris, that would be like trading my Duramax for a Datsun.

except the problem is that, it is difficult to find products made in America, and when you do a lot of them are made by people who don't care about the manufacturing quality, they are made by beaners that ship the money home to get more beaners here, or by union folks that know they won't be fired so why do a good job? Just like the UAW, instead of decreasing pay across the board and ditching the union to save a company we are just going blow billions and still go bankrupt. And preaching to me on what sled to buy, you don't think Yamaha or Ski doo employs Americans? you might want to rethink that one, and i can't imagine that Cat and Polaris don't have foreign made parts. If you want to support America go buy a gun or a bottle of bourbon.

Fact is most can not afford to buy american made products. the average working man only has so much money to spend and they need to make it go as far as possible. Many of our factorys are closed the gereen movement has really hurt this country with all the enviromental regulation, lawsuits and what not. Other countrys do not operate under the same rules we have to here. Sleds huh polaris seems to build nothing but junk these days and i have been trying to get a front bumper for a 09 for a month now ,polaris does not have any or know when they might (a front bumper this is a item that gets used)It really does seem like most every thing is made else where. Is klim gear made in america?

I would bet that if you broke down what parts on poo and cat sleds were made overseas, you would be very surprised.
Most of it is made overseas, and assembled in the us.
Suzuki makes cats powerplants, I would imagine they are made overseas.

When the large American unions stop supporting every left wing socialist running for public office, I might decide to buy their USA union made products again, but until then...

DITTO!!!!

I really try to buy American and do ride Poo (assembled in America) but I will never give the American auto unions a dime if I can help it. They support exactly what CleElum Sledhead said and had a huge part in taking down the auto industry, I'm done with them!! F-m!!

I hear Toyota and Nissan are coming out with Diesels in the US soon. I will be buying one of those 2 trucks next time period!

I have never purchased a vehicle that the head office was not based out of North America. But that may change in the future. I am tired of the electrical problems that my previous Chevy car had (spent a few hundred dollars at a dealer only to be told they did not find the problem) and now my Silverado is having numerous electrical problems. No horn, gas guage fluctuates continuously, other guages work sometimes, sometimes they don't. Polaris sled had electrical problems this year. The North American factories have got to produce a vehicle with fewer problems to keep me coming back. Picked up another Chevy car last fall. If it doesn't have fewer problems, I will be looking elsewhere for my next vehicle.

My Garage is full of Polaris'! And i have two Fords in the driveway, However my daily commuter is a VW as it get's close way better gas mileage than the others do! I support America!!!! Always have alway's will!!

Buying American sounds great and patriotic but unfortunately people want quality and the best bang for their buck and that can't always be found with American products. Our government taxes the he!! out of corparations who in turn have to pass that on to the consumer not to mention cut corners to be competative with foreign manufactures. Someone also made reference to Unions, that's another big issue. I think anyone would be hard pressed to find a motorsports product, or any other product for that matter that has been solely produced in the U.S. . That is just a fact of life. Toyota, Subaru and many other foreign products are built right here in the U.S. by Americans. Remember when Wal-mart first started, they claimed all their products were from the U.S., how long did that last??? It's all good in theory but doesn't work well in practice. We have a global economy and that is not likely to ever change. JMHO.

I normally hate jumping in on a subject like this that hits so close to home. I'm a UAW member (Ford) here in Michigan who proudly spends my vacation budget snowmobiling in Star Valley Wyoming. I know its tough to scrape up the extra dollars it sometimes takes to buy american products or support American businesses when the alternative is so much cheaper, but in the end its worth it. I just bought a new gear bag made by FILSON (Washington) and it was way more expensive than the alternatives, but worth every penny to know that those dollars are helping fellow Americans support their families. I rely on these same people to buy Ford products to support my family. I ride Polaris, buy John Deere tractors, drive Ford trucks, wear Hoffman Boots, and take pride in the fact that these products were assembled by our fellow Americans.

The next time your out riding that groomed trail, boondocking in the backcountry or enjoying that beer at your local snowmobile lodge/ hang out. Ask yourself were the money that feeds our snowmobile clubs, resorts, rental facilities, dealerships and other snowmobile reliant businesses comes from. I'm quite confident you'll find a hard working fellow snowmobiler who relies on the choices you make when purchasing products.

I agree with what is said above but I wonder how many snowmobilers realize what isnt made in the USA There are many companies in our Sport that are US based but their product is made overseas by non american workers. Companies such as HMK, Klim, 509 Goggles - these are products I am guilty of owning and the list goes on and on. The owners of these companies are US based but they farm out the manufacturing for a much bigger profit. Curious what everyones thoughts are on this?

That’s true to a point. If you buy products that have a foreign based company then ultimately the profits are going to go back to that county.

In the example that someone else used in the case of Subaru, they may have a large manufacturing presence and assembly in the USA but the profits still return to Japan and Fuji Heavy Industries.

With that being said I do believe that foreign trade is helpful to a nation if it is healthy trade. I believe that trade with China is ultimately damaging to the USA.

Products produced outside of the USA should have to be made to the same EPA, OSHA, pay and benefits standards that we have or there should be a tariff. Otherwise it is not fair trade.

one company moves and lowers there price and others have to do the same to stay competitive.
