Butte Meadows/ Jonesville

Anyone going to be in the BMJV area for this weekend and New Year. If so, maybe put a putt putt ride together and hit the loop if the snow is sketchy off trail.

However, if we're blessed and get a couple feet of pow pow by then, I'll see you ditch bangers and trail riders at the usual "hydration" spots. I'm headed for the trees and the fluff.:face-icon-small-ton

Look like low snow levels tonight. Lets keep our fingers crossed. I'll see if I can find out anything from Jim, if hes grooming and maube some depths. More to come.

Mooseknuckle - Was up there last Friday. They had just opened the gate and started grooming. Went down past Snag Lake, then up to Humbug Summit - about 3' up there. Didn't want to go off trail yet. I'm thinking about Monday.

Hey Mooseknuckle - I just saw that you got elected to VP of the Hillsliders - congrats! (I think?) I must have missed that in the newsletter.

Mike,

Pullin out in the morning. Drizzle here in the valley now, probably snow in the hills, enough??????????? Don't matter, some rides are better than others, but they're usually always better than work.

Gonna try to hit UPINYA's tomorrow in the pm, we talked tonight and there is snow all the way, maybe not the best, but its snow. chat it up (he's buried with work for the weekend, I surmise) maybe hit up Sharon over at St. Bernard on the way home.

Anybody in Chester know if Glenn at Plumas Pines is ready to receive visitors? Might be any option, or for later in the weekend. Might need to do a little progressive ride. Could be fun to give everyone up there a visit on the last day of the year, if the weather is condusive to safe sleddin.

I'll check SW in the morning if anyone wants to holler, hitting the road early after that you'all know where I be.

For Gods sake be careful this weekend, see you all on the other side if not in them thar hills. :beer;:wine::camera::rose::musicnote::lips::heart::devil::clock:

PS Sylvia Milligan from CSNA apparently has some "good" news from the land use front, not exactly sure but try an check it out yourself. Maybe there was a reversal on some propsed closure areas. Not sure, and haven't any confirmation. Headed to CSNA after post. If anyone knows for certain - then splash it around.

Happy New Year

SJG, I had a group of buddies hit the loop last weekend and a ride up to st. Bernard, they said it was closed? Hopefully a one time fluke??

There has been some really good info come up this week. I'll check with Sylvia and see if can be shared to the general public.

BTW it's snowing good here in Chester we have about 4 inches of fresh dry Powder. Still a little thin to get off the trail there have been a couple wrecks in the last two days.

Got a report last night there is 50” at the parking lot. Grooming will start back up on Friday the 11th. The Hillsliders poker run will be Jan 26th.

Sounds good!

The HS poker run is always a good one! Souldnt be any diffrent this year other than we have snow and can actuallyl make it to fanani!

Hillslider - Dave Minton told me there was about a foot at his place in Butte Meadows on Monday, reports say 50" at the snopark? Wowsa! I got a 3rd place a couple of years ago on the Poker Run - it was my first.

Mike

Was at the park yesterday and there is a solid 2 - 2.5 feet. Starting to set up pretty well. Go anywhere with 144 unless you did something really dumb. Crusty on the top, however I don't know what the conditions are up higher. Stayed in Jonesville area helping a neighbor with cabin repairs.

There were 12 plus rigs in the parking lot so I imagine that there were 30-40 sledders in the area. Groomers went out it looks like they went to hwy 89 via humbug (see hillsliders.com Trails: "I", "F", "D" and "C" were groomed Friday)

Be safe! See you all at the Poker Run in a couple of weeks. More to come.

good base but iced over

rode into high lakes with Adkins and Choate, crusted over everywhere, challenging climb out of Sunflower ridge though.............thirteen of us and no sled demolition, so a great day three xp's and a 08 800 dragon [keep up the great work with the groomer, Stacey.......]

nocando - How does one find out when you guys are riding? I'd like to tag along. I'm in Sacramento but I keep my sled in Butte Meadows. I do belong to BM Hillsliders.

Thanks for the posting Mike. We'll try to push this over the next week and get everyone whipped into a frenzy about it. Hopefully be done logging (cutting up downed trees) by then. Maybe I'll donate a day for someone to come out and cut trees for a day.:D Then again I guess that wouldn't inspire people to buy tix

If anyone is interested in donating a raffle prize(s), post here or pm me or ring me up 530-624-3526 and I'll get you dialed in. The more the merrier and I'll add that when you think about who and where to get prizes, think about the steps you take on a given morning to go sledding. DO you have a favorite coffee house or sandwich shop? Where did you buy your hitch at? or your spare tire? or you camper shell? Ladies, do you get your nails "did" somewhere?

I try to think of different places, some a little funky some not, that I don't hit up for every other dang thing I help with over the year. Just a thought, Got ?'s, I here for y'all.

Chadd,

Dude your are the best!!!!! I can't bellieve that you are donating that nude massage. I was wondering, would the winner be unclothed or would you?:eek::eek::eek::eek::face-icon-small-sho.

Really, I'll catch up with you. If you got a hankerin' for the Full Monty UPINYA, check out tuesdays at the bowling alley. The rest of you that have more continental tastes, it looks like we're going to have a stay at the St. Bernard (multiple/group) maybe some professional basketball tix and more. Stay tuned! Like Jay Leno - more to come! Its just the beginning.

Chaddley,

Look out here it comes, if it ain't there all ready. Rained like a motherfather from about 0415 to 0530 at about 40-41F so I can only imagine what its doin' up there. I see you sometime this week for that box of goodies.

For the rest of y'all, looks like we're gonna have a little fresh in the area so get you stuff shined up for the weekend. The route, the menu and the logistics are done. The prizes are coming in and rally the only variable is you folks. Come on up, you can ride from Butte Meadows (I think) or if you like I think the shuttle will be running so you can drop off sleds at the park and leave your rig in B.M.'s if the lot is full.

If you have any donations just holler 530-624-3526 and I'll help you get them delivered. More to come.
