La Grande Sno-Drifters Grooming News

Ladd - Anthony

Took the fam back to Pilcher this weekend. Dunno how the trails were, didn't get past the rock quarry. It was a blast, kids did some climbing and jumping and sticking and crashing. Snow was so-so, but better than before, and still deep enough to only hit dirt on the very deepest trenches (mine). Ended up rolling the old Max end over end about four times. Seems alright, other than a smashed windshield.

Work has been super busy, but this week should be slower and hope for a mid-week ride or two... somewhere high.

SC CC needs attention. Nice little layer on everything so it's ideal grooming conditions. Pass the butter please!

Catherine Creek was groomed today by one of our fine volunteers. Made a double pass to West Eagle and back to the parking lot. There is about 6 to 10 inches of new snow up there, from this last storm that went through. The riding was excellent today, and it just gets better the more you climb in elevation. Thanks Dean for the great job.

Thanks for the heads up F-Bomb, the groomer was on the job today. Have had my hands full since we had the poker run. I will give you a call to let you know how the Poker run went.

P.S. We had little eagle all to ourselfs today, nothing short of spectacular!!!! Not a track on the hill when we got there, does not look so good now! LOL!!!!

WAS WONDERING HOW FAR IS IT TO THE WARMING SHELTER FROM THE SNOW PARK AT CATHRINE CREEK . WAS THINKING OF GOING THURSDAY 3-19 ANY SNOW CONDITIONS ON WENSDAY WOULD BE GOOD HELP SUITE CASE 69 .

We had Bennet to ourselfs Saturday and went to Halfway today both were great, a little bad for slides how was the Meadows?

Dry and sunny for the past five days! Booooo Snow line crawling up the hill every day! Storm of the century brought in a whopping 5" to 8" last week...wow. Conditions sub mediocre right now...either need a fresh dump or a good thaw so we can get the spring mush ride going before the access snow is all gone.

I flew over catherine creek on sunday the trail looked good

all the way from the parking lot, but i'm sure alot has melted this week with the higher temps

Hit Anthony last weekend. Disappointing... WAY less snow than this time last year. Hit many rocks, trees, etc... There was some fresh, just enough to cause some powder bogs. But had to be very careful in most places.

Also some fractures and mini-slides kept us away from anything big.

Maybe try Olive or something that direction tomorrow. Low elevation snow is all gone here, even on north slopes. Access areas are getting pretty limited.

Cathirne Creek summit parking lot is bare but the trail still has preaty good snow on it down low. There is only a couple of bare spots in the first mile or so. If a guy gets above that 6000 ft. mark there is still some good riding. even a little new from time to time hear lately.

I took the kids and headed up the 10th and we had a blast, lot's of snow left. Like you said a few bare spots the first mile not to bad yet

Thats good to hear, don't know if we will make it to our last day of riding this yr. 28 days left, for our season, well for the silly ones!! LOL
