Butte Meadows / Jonesville

Nice job there on the advert MK - I posted up on Westcoastsledders.com. I've been assigned Station 4 - 1 to 3pm. Heading up tomorrow for the pre-run festivities. See you there

The new 'play' area is where I got the side of my truck whacked a couple of years ago, guy towing an enclosed up the hill with no chains slid back down the road into me. Someone is going to get hurt crossing the road if the county/SPI doesn't do something.

The county is aware and law enforcement makes suggestions, but I think its gonna take somebody getting hurt.

I tried to get USFS to open Cherry Hill up during the winter and they were pretty cool to the idea. I thought that if we got it cleaned out so people could pull in there and "play" they'd be out of parking lot and off the roads. USFS' biggest concern was that they'd have to manage it. Let's see here; club marks and blows roads, club empties trash, club make sure there is wipe in the bathrooms. WTF is there to manage.

But enough of that - we're here to ride pokers! I will try to clear out of here a little after noon tomorrow. If anyone is in need of sled transport, I got two spots on my trailer. I'm going to be at Outpost, so if you might need a little help getting it to there you can post up or pm me.

Also, everyone who can, please bring something for the raffle. I might be able to help move some of that stuff as well, but I don't have time to run all over so you'll have to be a little accommodating. I will keep an eye out tonight for postings.

Also, thanks to everyone who checks in with this page, even if you don't post. Almost 1000 views when I started pecking this out.

Tick tick tick.....

2 meetings, a banking, a post office, a top off, a bag of Riley's peppered beef jerky and mini-mk and I are dropping the hammer and gonna put a little boost to the derrdy max. Maybe rock a little Slash/Miles Kennedy, Volbeat, Pantera (cuz Dad, I wanna listen to snowmobile camp music). Apparently a two nighter poker run event to a 4 y.o. is "snowmobile camp".

So I will see y'all at snowmobile camp.

Well...we survived. Good turn out, trails stayed pretty good for the most part and we had a nice selection of raffle prizes. I won't throw anyone under the bus for after run activities; but there seems to be an extreme shortage of Crown Royal in Butte Meadows.

Seems everyone had a good time. Thank you for coming to ride (rocknester, andre162, JAdams, madmin, straightup), and Glende and Twin Cities for bringing new sleds. Thanks to everyone one who rode, worked and spent your hard earned greenbacks with the club and the community of Butte Meadows.

Special thanks to Outpost for letting us over run the place.

Perhaps a little "out of bounds" for BM/J but...

Bucks Lake is having their Poker Run this Saturday. There were a few representin' at BMHS so I would encourage those of you who can, go up and see the shindig they put on.

Hoping to be there myself. You can go up to Quincy and then back west to Summit Parking or up through Oroville and park along the road. If any of you are familiar with the parking/riding situations, please chime in. I know it's only a couple miles from summit to lodge. I think from the Oroville side it's 15-20 of riding till you get there. So if you have a gas hog, bring a little extra.

I did the Bucks Lake Poker Run in 2008. It took exactly 3 hours from I-80/I-5 in Sacramento, up Hwy 70 to Quincy, then to the Summit parking area. Get there early! It's about 4 miles to Bucks Lake Lodge from there. They have a good breakfast, lunch and a great party afterwards.

I went on the poker run . We came in from the Chester side...so much for the $10 bucks though. My nine year old son and I got dinged for $50 big ones. The riding wasnt too bad and the food was pretty good. We had to leave our raffle tickets there with our names on them so we could get home before dark. My kid is wondering where his prize is..

I asked for 'mooseknuckle' at the first checkpoint out of Chester and I received some odd looks from the crew there.. So I didnt ask for you anymore.

Scott

Scott - 'mooseknuckle' - unless the crew at the stop is on Snowest and knows 'mk' personally, they probably wouldn't know. Ten bucks was the cost of the poker hand, throw in a meal and some raffle tickets you're looking at $40 for the package. I think I was probably in for $150, just don't tell the wife!:face-icon-small-hap

Well I'm sorry you weren't fortunate. Take solace in the fact that I invested a sum significantly greater then that and my name was never called either. I try to keep my identity a secret because of my "alternative" life style. But this description ought to give it away. I was the Caucasian fellow with the KLIM riding gear on the Ski-doo summit.

Hope that helps. Thanks for joining us and giving what you could. Every little bit makes the program and the riding better in the area. Now get that Pisten Bully out and make those trails like corduroy butter; cuz like Big n Rich sang - were coming to your city, to put a little ching in your Chang Chang! Or wherever you normally put your ching

Some of us are. The poker run is the weekend of the 16th according to their website. Hopefully there will be some snow left.

IDK why I thought it was Sat. Everything says 16th. Soooo sorry if everyone got worked up to go ridin. Of course you can still go ride - but I guess you'll have to bring your own prizes.

Sorry y'all
