BUSTED: The Citizen's Guide to Surviving Police Encounters

Thread Rating
1.00 star(s)
I know this is 45 minutes but it is worth every second. This is a video everyone should watch. Cops are very tricky and can never be trusted, it is pretty common for cops to lie to you but god help you if you lie to them. Please watch.
It's one of the reasons why I teach my kids to avoid them, they are not your friends. Schools teach kids to trust the uniform and authority and therefore kids and many adults do not understand the tricks of entrapment. If they can't avoid them say nothing except call my parents.

The Citizen's Guide to Surviving Police Encounters

I have found that not doing things that are against the law works pretty good for me.

Its amazing that the ones who are always being "harassed" by the cops are also the ones being dumb asses out causing problems and bragging when they don't get caught.

You gotta be Chittin me! You posted this as a joke right? I watched the first 5 minutes of that crap and that was enough. You said it's "worth every second". So what happened to you lately that you're posting garbage like "Cops can never be trusted?" Or maybe we should ask, "what did you do lately?" If you have to teach your kids "to avoid them", then you haven't done your job as a parent and taught your kids well enough to realize it's not a Cop's job to be your kid's friend but their rescuer. We've all had to deal with a Cop on a power trip every now and then, but when things go south in your world who do you call? If not the Cops whom "you can't trust", than who. Well said by Hawkshot that usually those yapping the loudest about how bad the cops are, are usually the Idiots who are too stupid to realize they brought it on themselves. The only thing you speak of that I give any merit at all is, if my child is wrongfully accused of a crime then Yes, they should have the Officer call me. I didn't have to teach my kid that though, he has common sense. I give a ton of credit to all law enforcement officials. They have a thankless job but 99% of them still do their very best to keep you and I safe. I'd like to see a Mod remove this garbage thread:mad: I'm really hoping this a joke. Maybe I should watch to the end to realize I've been got!:face-icon-small-hap

I have found the same thing. Typically the cop haters put themselves into situations that now make them have resentment toward police. If they would have followed the law in the first place, they wouldn't have a problem with "The Police."

What ever happened teaching your kids to always do the right thing? You must be kidding that you teach your kids to avoid cops and that they are not your friends. I am not a cop nor am I particularly a fan but this is absurd, sure there are bad cops like every other profession but teaching your kids this crap....come on!!

WOW no chit! Makes you wonder what else these types are teaching there kids....that it's ok to grow a few plants out back:)

Perhaps next time he or his kids are in need of help they won't call 911....because they should be avoided and can't be trusted.

100% agree. Teach your kids to avoid cops?? Here's a thought: TEACH YOUR KIDS THAT BREAKING THE LAW IS BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know, crazy thought.

It's unfortunate that parents nowadays blame their phukup kids on society.

glad to see all the time I'm wasting on the streets, so you can live comfortably.

Maybe all my fellow boys (and girls) in law enforcement should take the week off ( that way all the dumb a$$E$ don't have to worry about police encounters). That would be a fun place to live. NOT

Some people don't have the foggiest idea what goes on in a normal shift.

what was taken off your streets in ONE WEEK, in one small city!!
13 lbs uncut cocaine
5 viles meth
9 DUIs
3 child sex offenders

Those who avoid the cops usually have something to hide. Yes we know this were not stupid!
OK I'm done I'll go back to eating doughnuts and playing solitaire

Well said. Exactly right when you say that most people don't have the foggiest idea what goes on in a normal shift. I'm not a Cop, but work closely with them and there is no way In He!! I could put up with the disrespect you guys do. Hats off to you for what you do :beer;
But......13 lbs of uncut.....coincidence or just in time for the Christmas party...huh? :face-icon-small-hap

I did not nor do I intend to watch the video! In my expereince in dealing with cops ,lawyers and pretty much everyone involved with the legal process they could do us all a favor and save themselve a lot of trouble if they would

1 ckeck there ego at the door
2 STFU and listen
3 repeat 1 and 2 as required

There is a good reason why generally law abiding citizens feel they should avoid law enforcment. If you have never had a pistol held to your head and a knee in your back during a simple traffic stop take my word for it ITS NOT FUN and yes I will do my best to avoid it in the future

I encourage everyone to watch the whole video....just for one reason so you have the same advantages everyone in law enforcement does when they break the law.
The whole thing is about being informed of your rights...not about right or wrong. And if you think all you have to do is not break any laws to stay out of trouble tell that to all the innocent people being released here in TX because of DNA testing that was not available when the were arrested and jailed.

Knowledge is power and why should only a certain group of people be comfortable with their rights. I am independent minded person and dont believe we need any govt. service out side of a federal army to defend against foreign invaders and services provided by city's inside of city limits. I'm sure I'll get flamed but I think this video is a good example of how good intentions can go wrong. I also believe we should let 1000 guilty people go free just so we dont accidentally convict an innocent.

But I do have a personal bias for my opinions and thats all they are.

You are a real winner Ultra, and a fine parent! I'm a police officer who loves kids so much I volunteer to teach Sunday School every week. Your fine parenting skills remind me of a story that is not uncommon in my line of work.

I get called to a disturbance in the ghetto where I was assigned at the time. When I get there I go up to the porch and there is blood everywhere. Even on the porch ceiling. I quickly go inside and clear the house. A blood trail goes from the porch, through the house and into the back alley. I start asking neighbors who are on their porches what happened and they just ignore me as if I'm not even there. I see a little boy, anywhere from 6 to 8 yrs old. I figure he is the only one who will help me. I go to him and try to buddy up, but he isn't having it. I ask him what happened on the porch. He responds, "Nothing happened officer." I asked him, "Excuse me?' He responds, "You heard me, nothing happened officer." Turns out a husband stabbed his wife repeatedly, then dragged her through the house and put her in the car and drove away. She lived, but that's not the point here. I couldn't even get an innocent little kid to tell me what happened after he saw a stabbing because of the crap his parents taught him. Way to go daddy! And right on, all we want to do is write tickets and entrap people into saying things. Unbelievable.....

Ask me how many tickets I've written in the last year.

how many tickets have you wrote in the last year?

how many tickets have you wrote in the last year?

I do very little traffic, unless it's completely blatant. I don't enjoy pissing people off and I like bigger fish. Other than that the only tickets I write are for traffic accidents for the at-fault party.
