Hi, just wondering on some feedback thinking about maybe slp pipes and a controller for my 08 m1000 but was wondering how hard to tune them and worried about getting to lean or rich .I,m a rider who just likes to ride not stop alot to tune always been that way.Or might just get the silencer for reduce the weight .Do you notice a differnce in wieght and or power? ty for any feedback

I just bought the attitude box last week because I talked to allot of guys that had the BD box. I am like you I just want to set it and ride the rest of the day. Just my 2 cents

I dialed my bd box in the first ride of the year, never touched it after that.

you can only add fuel with the attitude box. from what i've seen, running an intake and a pipe on a m8 or 1000 there are some rpms where you will want to lean out a little which this box can not do

No thats not true. The Attitude box has a "PULL FUEL" function.

Attitude Box Key Features:
•Adds and/or pulls fuel as needed without upsetting stock fuel map
•Provides timing manipulation
•Easy to see LED display
•2 year warranty
•Easy to install
•Fine tune stock fuel map
•Add fuel for pipes, big bores,
turbos, and nitrous

IMO. Attitude box is more simple and way easier to tune than the BD box.

I LOVE the Attitude!

how do you "dial" the box? did you pull plugs to check for lean or rich? have egt's? air fuel gauge? or does the box somehow tell you these things?

I "Dial" it in using the EGT's first and then as I got closer would pull plugs to double check what the EGT's were telling me. Now that I have it where it feels like it is "dialed", All I do from day to day is ride the H E L L out of it! and maybe add some fuel in the low/mid range on the super cold days when leaving the parking lot in the morning then pull it back out when we start climbing the steep-n-deep.:D:beer;

It's really tooo easy!

You should take a look at the CPC twins. They have been very impressive on my M8! Ventilate the engine compartment for them and they run as trouble free as any single! I'd run my M8 against any single piped M1000 and KILL it!:D THE TWINS ROCK!

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but the Attitude box pulls fuel across the board (idle, acceleration, and WFO) unlike the Boondocker box which can pull fuel at more specific RPMs. Attitude DOES pull fuel, just not as specifically as the Boondocker.

I have EGT's, tune to the edge, then confirm with plug color. Rode many different elevations and temperatures last year, (high of 45, low of -32). Once I had it running where I wanted I never had to adjust to conditions. VERY pleased.

i run an attitude and love it i had a bd box way too much for me 24 different #s the attitude is tuning for dummies it works and derick is a great guy to work with if you have problems he will spend the time to talk to you besides his box is cheaper and hopefully by mid season he will have the closed loop system worked out which will be sweet

Check the closed loop fuel control thread... It is on hold right now and will not happen until they come up with a more reliable AFR sensor.

None of the boxes will give you the knowledge to tune, just the ability.
You must first know how to tune.
Once you know how to tune, the only issue is to become familiar with the box you are running to alow you to do so.

^^ That right there is the key.^^ You can look at EGT and/or A/F gauges all you want...but if you don't know what those numbers mean as it relates to YOUR motor those gauges are nothing but pretty lights. You need to tune your motor the old fashioned way, take note of what your gauges are telling you, and that is the baseline for YOUR motor. What you run can be completely different than what someone else runs with the exact same setup.
