Boondocker Timing Module

Call them on the phone and ask for the Arctic Cat Timing Module. Are there any Boondocker "Dealers" over on your side of the ocean?
 
The timing module works great! I have been running one on my M1000 and on the 2010-2011 M8 for the last 4 or 5 rides of the season with great results. On the 2010-2011 we can run the stock head with tighter compression clearance and get away with much lower octane requirements.

We have them on the shelf.
 
I want more details..! 3 degree retard ignition in what boost?? I hope it works like that, with a boost ref line and retards the ignition with boost?
 
Does this thing have any adjustability? Boost reference or just RPM based retard?
 
No adjustability and no boost reference. I am under the assumption it connects in line on the crank position sensor and is purely rpm based.
 
Benefits

So what type of benefits can an 09 pump gas see? I've been running 9-10 lbs with 2ish gal of race. Will this help get away with straight 91 at these same levels? 10k feet. I know it won't help duty cycle so the best benefits would just be lower octane at same boost levels?

For the 2010-2011 what kind of boost/octane are you talking and what was the elevation you were running it at?
 
I am wondering the same thing. I would think there would be some Boondocker dealers on here, or Boondocker themselves, that would post some information about these units, as there sure seems to be interest out there.

I have one on the way and will post some pictures when it arrives.
 
Rode with a guy in june he had a 2011 m8 with the boondocker pg with intercooler which had the timing mod. we were riding about 9000 ft at 8lbs on pump gas worked well

The timing module works very well it take less than 1 min to install or remove we were testing 91 octane non ethenol 2010,2011 head starting at 5500 ft and up in elevation and we were able to run to max inj. duty cycle 96% or so without det if module removed we would make it 50- 100 yrds before det. it is very helpfull in the mid range where it is needed most for the on and of throttle in tight trees or chutes ,it is a prgressive slope based on rmps so somewhere around 2 degree retard at 7000 rmps reaching 3 degrees by 8000 they will also be avail. in 1 and 2 degree as well for turbo or nat asperated. with no sacrifice of bottom end as we are not pulling timing there.
 
Sound like a real good product!

I use a 2.5 timing key now, works fine with boost, but poor without boost. Maybe I should install a 0.5 degree (higher ignition than stock) to get more power and better trottle respons on low rpm? That do you think?
 
We do have people and racers using timing keys (advance) and then using a timing module based on fuel avalability and hot days where det is more prominent you can pull the unneeded timing in the upper RMP ranges and keep the bottom and bottom mid power up.
