There is a Semi Flopped over on Hi-Way # 5....
Its is by the Mileage Creek Bridge....
The Hi-Way is CLOSED with the Semi right across the whole Hi-Way !!
I will Post when it Opens again !

Other Semi's took out thier chains and skidded the Flopped over Semi , right off the Road !... EXCELLENT !
WOW !!....Blue River needs CELL PHONES !!
PLEASE HELP US !!!
Call Telus Mobility and Complain !....
WE Want Cell Phone Service in Blue River !!
Blue River is Remote in the Mountains .....We should have Cell Phones here as a Safety Issuse !!

If You have Never been to Blue River Riding Area's ....I suggest You take a Certified Professional Snowmobile Guide for the First Time in Blue River !

The Sledders that stayed at The Holy Smoke Inn this weekend , said they had a OUTSTANDING Time !

BIG AVALANCHES !!!
A Size 3.5 ( Large enough to bury a Truck ! ) Natural slide occured near Valemount fracturing 1.5 meters deep. Observers in the region also reported isollated occuring naturally occuring Avalanches in the upper portion of the Snowpack involving layers from 20 cms. to just ove ri meter deep ( wind slab , Freezing rain crust, and poorly bonded new snow interfaces. ) These events are mostly on northerly aspects in Alpine and Treeline !

Blue River is having a OUTSTANDING Day !!
Woke up to -25 ahhh looked out the Window to see Our Prestine Mountains .....WOW..!!
The Mountains just Sparkel like Diamonds when the Sun is Shining on them !!
Perfect Day for taking those Special Video's and Pictures.
Also remember ...
Blue River is also OPEN ALL YEAR ROUND !!
Quadding here is a MUST Also !!
The Holy Smoke Inn is OPEN Year round !!
Blue Jewel is OPEN ALL Year round ( not for Sledding ) For info . and Meeting New People and Quadding with them ....
POW-WOW ..( My Husband ) has 10 Weeks Off in th Summer ( Banked overtime )
He is always Up for a Quadd Trip !
Just something to ponder....

Travell Advisory....
The common theme for the North Columbia last week was wind !
High Northerly winds created hard and soft Slabs almost everywhere!
But this week those Slabs haven't gone away ! In Fact they are in a Prime situation to catch People off Guard , because the loading of Snow is on the SW Aspects-The opposit of what You might be used to !
In many places, these Slabs rest on a layer of large, easy to trigger snow crystals down 40-50 cms. SOOOOOO This Week , watch out for Surface Slabs in the Alpine and Treeline ! The usual suspects remain : shallow, rocky areas , gullies and depression, rolls, and of course Cornices !!!
Snowpack.....
Intence North winds over the last several days have created a variety of Hard and Soft Slabs in the Alpine and at Treeline.
This is opposite to Our normal pattern of SW winds, so wind slabs will be found on slopes that are normally scoured or thin. Near the ground , the Dec 5 Crust and facets remain intact, and still provide a potential sliding layer for Large Avalanches !!
In shallow snowpack areas , sugary, unconsolidated snow sits on the ground, providing a significant weakness.
Weather.....
The ridge of High Pressure will remain in place until Thursday. The Northern part of the forecast area may experiance a temperature inversion, bring in mild ( +3 C )temperatures locally near Treeline.
The rest of the forecast area will remain cool, dry and Sunny. Sunny aspects may experience very warm temperatures, in the absence of the wind. An upper trough will approach the area on Thursday, spreading light snowfall for most areas !

There sure are ALOT of Moose ....they lick the Salt....
We are hearing of at least 1-4 a DAY ...GET HIT....
That is just between Valemount and Blue River !
Whoa.....That's alot of BULL...Winkle !!!
If it's not the Wolves....it is the Traffic !!
Some Truckers are hitting Cow & Calf at the same time !.....Bummer...
Take Care out there !!

Blue river can only accomadate limited amount of people. (maybe 50) its almost easier to travell from Valemount. Do day trips.

We battle Gov't Land Issuses... and Caribou Issuses... and Heli Ski Issuses ....ALL FOR YOU...
and other Sledders can come and enjoy Our Beautiful backyard......and leave Your Worries behind ( for a few days ) .....
Please when reporting on Blue River.....Please be Factual & Actual !!!
