Best Kit For Pro?

Popped over here to check on stuff... See that my sled got brought up.. I replied to that over on the other thread. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone, I honestly think that sled just had a rough life with me attempting to tune on it for a year, first with Dobek then with Vi-pec. That turbo kit had roughly 1000 hard miles on it (and by hard, ya I mean mtn riding but I also mean ROOKIE TUNER!) Honestly, if I thought the HM kit was bad or the Vi-pec tuning was bad I would say it. At this point I do not and I think it was a BUNCH of things that finally did my sled in (I've been trying to find an electrical gremlin that was probably killing my injectors every now and then which is NOT good for engine failure and then the rookie tuner thing.... so yeah, lots of stuff that could have gone wrong...)

granted, I'm not saying the vi-pec is the end all solution either! I think it was a WAY cool tool and it gave us a LOT more visibility on our system which helped us find SOME electrical issues (still had one happening though right up until the end but this electrical stuff started with my 3rd ride of the season and has been a battle since then!) I think with more time on the vi-pec and more people running the the product might prove the reliability factor. As a tuning tool I CAN vouch for the fact that it got a lot more power out of my machine and cleaned up my bottom end immensely -as well as allowed us to look for the cause of the electrical issue...

So from my POV I'm saying the jury is still out on the vi-pec, more sleds running it for more time and in more area is what is needed; and I think that's coming, it's going on quite a few sleds this spring so we should start seeing it prove itself and know where to go from there....

Me, I'm outta budget/time so the build might not get picked up again... I think we were DANG close too but what can ya do....

Sold my Silber turbo about a month ago, if im buying a new turbo kit later im going with BD. HM with Vipec sounds nice, but the price is WAY out of my range.

And im getting kinda tired of every turbo thread beeing bombed by Vipec people, telling everyone how good it is.

That's MY opinion.

I use my sled to do 50% trails and 50% play. Turbo worked great for pure play and fun, after I got rid of dET problems and bogging issues, which took half my season btw. For trail riding it sucked, if i didnt give it alot of fuel i would hit a really bad lean spot from 5000-7000rpms, and if i gave it the fuel it needed to be safe i would get fouled plugs or having bogging issues. I also do alot og night riding alone, and i needed a sled i could trust 100% so i can get home safe each ride.

Know a couple people with BD kit and they dont have any issues at all, no lean spot, no bogging, and no fouled plugs.

My BD has been great for me this year. I pretty much had the same experience as the people you know there with BD kits. You'll like it.
Ha det bra!

What altitude, boost and setup do you ride? 98octane or do you add 100ll or race fuel?

I ride 7500ft to 10,000ft. Mix 50% Sunoco 110 and 50% premium. I just use the stock plugs and BD's recommended clutch setup. I am not running a cold air intake yet, just drawing air from under the hood, but I plan on doing one this summer.

I started low with my boost numbers 6-7 lbs. and have been turning it up a little at a time. I run 9 to 10 now and love it. I'd be running more boost if I had any gauges at all but I don't so I am taking my time to get to 12 lbs. I plan on adding an AFR this summer so I can push my kit some more.

I know there not coming out till mid summer but does Any one know roughly how much a boost it kit will run a guy

its best to get ahold of neil here http://boost-it.ca/ he is pretty quik to get back to you.it wont be cheap but will be 100% complete & the best parts you can buy.neil is not interested in selling 10000 kits,he just wants to sell the best kit to those that want the best.it wont be for everyone, he wants every kit to run perfect no issues for the customer 100% satisfied.he started this because he was unhappy with what was out there for fuel boxes,he went through all the issues & was tired of losing days on the mountain to issues.he has a regular job & dosnt do this to make a living he does ok at his regular job:face-icon-small-hap neil rides a ton & does all the testing on the kits with real mountain riding, deep snow big hills trees you name it no dyno tuning on these kits or running up & down packed hills.kits will be ready to ride very little tuning necessary.:beer;:thumb:

Those aren't turbos !!

What's the matter Gus, the Doo section had enough of your anti-Aerocharger agenda so you decided to try your mudslinging over here in the Polaris section? Seriously man, I wouldn't run anything but a Garrett either, but it's gettin' old...

You never even took it out of the box so how is that the case?

I love my Silber kits, by far the best investment for my pros

The story is much much worse.

I had it sold, the customer had a question I told them to contact Silber and not only did he sell for less then I was asking (which was less then the snowcheck price) but he also delivered it for free.

Then I had his recommended installer do the first install $1000 later the sled runs like crap, vibrates itself into pieces. Drive out...Tow in

Then I ask said installer to fix, changed Dobek, checked his original work. Sled is returned without the oil return attached....Drive out.... Tow in

Finally connect oil return, fill with oil check installation. Ride out. Horrendous bog between 4800-6500 RPM's on the new Dobek, sled vibrates horrendously stalls intermittently. Drive out...Limp in

Three rides 40 miles...2 tow-ins

Thanks Silber and to the installer that no longer returns phone calls or stands behind his work, at a bare minimum please return the parts you took off the sled.

Congrads Silber on a fantastic pile of sh!t

Did you really just post the same thing word for word on three different posts. I understand voicing your opinion but that is a little ridiculous. Sounds like you had a rough time though. I've had good luck with Justin and other dealers helping me out. Sorry to hear you didn't have the same.

Call me if you need anything 719-578-7774 and ask for Corey. If im not there leave a message and I will call you back.

How do you know the kit sucks if you never installed it. From your description it sounds like something went wrong with the install. Please PM me the name of the Silber dealer that installed it and I will try and help.

But if I put you on the ignore list I wouldn't be able to follow you around and bust your balls... duh! :face-icon-small-ton:face-icon-small-hap
