Bear Paw- INFO

Well I haven't looked on here in a long time because you get a bunch of idiots complaining who don't have a clue and don't even ride but just like to run their mouths. For those who don't know me my Dad started ridding up there in the 60's and I started in 76. So I have had alot of experience and knowledge what has taken place up there. I also was the club president for 5 years. I got a phone call last night about Mike stir **** up.
LISTEN PEOPLE THE FOREST SERVICE IS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE AND NOT WHAT IT WAS INTENDED FOR!!! If you think that your fooling yourself. I went to all their meetings along with many other people. Filled out and sent in written letters like Erin told us we had to do. Only to have them thrown out like others. Then they have a public meeting only you have no say unless you got a response to your letter. I asked Erin at one of the snowmobile meetings in front of about 50 people what closing and decommissioning a road consisted of. (Hauling miles of road bed to a Glacier dump site and replacing it with dirt) She told me and everyone there this was not true. Which is a lie. She was then confronted by the person she told this too and she back tracked and said she must have misunderstood my question. No she is a lier and will tell you what ever to keep you happy till her next move.
MONEY IS NOT THE ISSUE! They have not only been told they would be given the money to fix it. THEY GOT THE MONEY FROM THE BORDER PATROL ALREADY. They were supposed to have it open and fixed.

I AM 100 PERCENT IN TO TAKE OUR LAND BACK!!!!

ALL YOU DO GOODERS AND THE ONES FROM THE SKAGIT CLUB WHO ENJOY YOUR CABINS. YOU ONLY HAVE ALL THE CABINS CAUSE 3 PEOPLE SAID SCREW IT WE ARE DOING IT.

ANOTHER THING EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW IS YOU HAVE AN IDIOT LOCAL WASSA REP WHO SAYS HE WILL PARK UP THERE AND WRITE TICKETS

ANYONE WHO ENJOYS THE PUBLIC RECREATION LAND SHOULD BE THERE TO OPEN THE ROAD

I vote Conrad to lead this project. We have more than enough support, equipment and volunteers.
I have been riding in the bear paw area since the mid 80's and I will not sit and be quiet, and watch this area be taken away.

I'm in

Let's do this while the motivation is here. The larger the group involved equals a better chance of positive change

The point of the road being possibly closed down at the hwy does not really matter as the current road block is way, way too low in elevation. Only the rare low elevation storms can allow access on a sled

We have to push back. If it comes to a ticket then I'll hang it on my wall like a trophy and be proud of the memory

Let's set a date. How about next Thursday the 15th?

Tickets.....

They CAN'T write you a ticket if your plates are tucked in your truck and make sure the "snow park permit" covers your VIN #.........

Pull plates off lock in truck and if there at our trucks when we get back then I would be glad to EXPLAIN our circumstances !!!!!
Were here to "Make America great again" Ill tell them !!!!

This area is very important to a lot of folks, probably Conrad more than anyone. I would like to know more about the CBP giving money to repair the washout. If the FS has money given for that purpose then what happened to it, did they give it back? Did they keep it for something else? We have a right to know and could file a suit to find out.
I haven't seen the materials in place that closed the road but with the right equipment it probably can be moved fairly easily.

So I did a search on Facebook for Erin Uloth. I hope that's not the same person who is the ranger. If it is we may be in trouble.

Does not matter, irrelevant. FS has certain mandates pertaining to their mission and they are required to manage public lands for multiple uses. she cant change that, despite her personal opinions. Im telling you she needs to hear from us, loud and clear in the form of a work party to open the road and force real dialogue. Its possible her superiors may not like what she is doing. They can close any road somewhere else that means nothing to meet their TMP requirements, but not this one.

someone mentioned the 15th thursday. im thinking a weekend would work best for most people, including myself.

I would leave the date up to the guys with the equipment. The rest of us can work around them.
The snow level is low now so I think we need to wait till it goes back up. But makes no difference to me.

Fight

There has been alot of letters written and attendees at the meetings and what has this achieved.. sometimes our voice is louder with actions. I'm in we need more guys maybe 50!! This is possibly one of the best riding areas in the state. How long do we have to wait for action to be taken from the FS.

I am not sure how we can find out what they did with the money.

I will find out more tonight or tomorrow when I can confirm. But for those who don't know she is very misleading for example she said canyon Creek will be opened and fixed. But what she doesn't tell you is the road to church (bearpaw) was to be closed. At the last meeting in Everett in front to of everyone they said they were going to leave it and Grose butte open. But the last map they just showed says both these roads will be closed. I will confirm as soon as I can talk to the person who knows for sure. If this is true it's another example of her lying and stringing us along till she makes her next move.

agreed, 50 would be better. or 100. who in the area is going to call the date for this? ACTION

Erin Video

If that video was from Dec 15 2015, and we as a group we not aware of the intentions and scoping details until August 2016:
1) We as a group need to make ourselves better informed - so that we are involved sooner in the process
2) Our Clubs need to be more timely in their involvement and better communicators of the risks in loosing these areas. These situations may need to be handled by lawyers. At this point: We look to have brought a knife to a gun fight - and showed up late.
3) The money, time, expenses and risk being proposed to move barriers at Canyon Creek is possibly better spent bringing legal pressure to the Forest Service. The government in many cases has to be forced to follow the law - Sad as that is.
4) The area is valuable to Snowmobilers - and we need to prove it to the FS. We may also have to give some money to the fight. Who is in for $100 (or more)? I am!
5) Civil disobedience has a place, however that place is magnified (and the subsequent actions more meaningful) if the legal system has already been put on notice that action is coming as witnessed by the current actions of the group.
6) The combination of everyone's best efforts and resources will overcome the obstacles - and we can win! We need to use lawyers, guns (force) and money in equal portions.

RIP Warren Zevon (Artist and songwriter), he will not be riding this special area in the future. We will!
He said : Bring Lawyers, guns and money. The st*t has hit the fan!

Sounds like someones personal agenda is influencing Forest Service decisions, as for whether or not some one rides or is part of another club and that is in any way a part of the problem is losing site of the issue. How many law firms who help with situations ride or belong to a different club? I am not stirring the pot but there has to be a chain of command above the problem, I don't know but someone does. How about going to a different FS office where they are sled friendly? Some body knows who to talk to or write letters to. Send a copy of the vid to several FS offices, I have not watched the vid don't need to. What about SAWS I thought this is what they were all about?
Not calling any one out just looking for info. Maybe they know who to contact at the Dept. of Ag in Missouri.
Just some one who has a passion for the sport who is not able to ride AT THIS POINT, changes are coming for that...

Making a public stand is the only way we are going to get her superiors attention that we are not going to settle for this. The problem with being late is when they have public hearings (which legally they have too) and they say one thing then come back and do the opposite you can't prepare. That also is a problem. She is changing so much from the public comment and meeting that legally they have to open it back up to the public. Doug huddle who is in charge of citizens for forest roads and Roger who is a extra forest service have already told Erin there are 13 different laws she is breaking by doing what she is doing. She doesn't care she thinks she can do whatever she wants. If you have ever listened to her for 10 min you will count her say I atleast 5 times. She doesn't understand she works for the public. It's not her own business that she can run her own agenda. Which she is as green as they come. She attended the pipeline protest this year. She will point blank tell you the Indians have been screwed over and it's her personal agenda to make it right for them. The problem is that is her opinion and she is taking everyones land because of her opinion.

What about SAWS?

KMMAC: "What about SAWS I thought this is what they were all about?"
Yes SAWS was about this, however they are now disbanded. Why: Because not enough snowmobilers would take the time and money to fight the fight. I was involved and help raise money for them. They did have a positive outcome for us as a group, however the "not my responsibility" killed them. We, as a united group, have to fight the FS - with legal means - to have a positive outcome and save Bearpaw.

If what has been said is true about Erin then the best step would be to get hold of her superior, this seems like a long path but it only shows how problematic she is.
GO public, nothing like using FREEDOM OF SPEECH against those who are all for it.
Post that vid EVERYWHERE. What about getting hold of that group from Texas. They seem to get their message across in the news, maybe get some advise on how to stage a protest, shoot I might even come hold a sign.. If the higher ups knew what was going on she would be reassigned... Again, had no intentions of pi$$ing any one off. Just throwing ideas out there. With this type, you have to use their ways against them... It works, and there is nothing they can do to stop it.( was not aware saws disbanded.)
Maybe figure a way to get hold of the Koch Bros., Billionaires with an interest in resources like ore and are for open area (shared) who are expected to have an interest in Dept. of Ag land for the future of America.. I don't know,, just thinking outside the box.........

Dept of the Interior - Forest service

We will have a new Secretary of the Interior next month. Candidates are Cathy McMorris-Rodgers from WA and Sarah Palin from AK. Stay tuned and get ready to be involved. The riding area you save may just be your own! There is hope - if you act and spend a little money/time/resources!
