Just a heads up guys my track clip tool broke one of the pivot pins while installing the 2nd clip. Be ready to drill it out and install a grade 8 bolt, couldn't find if there was a warranty on it.

Maybe you just got a dud because mine worked well.

indy 500 i am about to order the clips and tool. how many clips did you need to get the job done?

can this have to do with the track beeing impossible to align? my track pulls sideways and hitting the right rail tip. it has gotten lot better now after some miles.

if you look at the track you can see it be aligned in the back but at the beginning of the rails it pulls sideways.

its been to dealer and reported to polaris, many have this but nothing is beeing done. its more as the parts have rubbed to fit after a few miles.. but it still aint right and it pisses me off

I keep all clean and up to correct standard obviuosly so this problem is
eating me up.

"windshield not on,getting a new layer of vinyl to match the rest!"

Is there a place in Canada to buy the track clip tool

Not sure, the wholesaler that mine came from does not sell retail. I can ask if he will continue to sell to us as I don't actually have an account with them as their product line is limited. The reason they supplied it in the first place was because of a mutual friend.

PM me your contact info if you want me to inquire.

Chris

Class action is going to be formed against Polaris

We are looking to formulate a class action against Polaris. Join our group on Facebook : Recours contre Polaris industries Ltd Canada : Chenille serie 6-7 Axys 2016

The group is in french but it can be translated by the admin if english people join.

Even if you fully clip the track it will still allow to bend it self lika a banana from the rail lying on the outside when sidehilling. Due to the missing outer steering nobs for the hifaxes.

It will still make unnecessary forces on the hifaxes + rear idler wheels. I've already had to change hifaxes + the idler wheels 3/4 into the last season.

I think its most noticable on the longer 3" tracks. I've seen it on 155x2.6 but not as severe as my 163x3

Mine is doing the same thing.

Mine has the exact same wear problem. I too tried to warranty it and they said I was riding with now snow, high heat. I quit riding in April, and mainly ride deep snow on Buff Pass in CO, so I knew better. Really sucks!

Just a dumb clip design - unless you're Poo Parts and Accessories. Then it's brilliant!

Yes french group for now. Some members of this group has to replace their track because they have reach the fiberglass structure. At this point not only a 60$ fix. Remember that there are class action for USB computer device that worth about 5$ aun other cheaper objects. Track has an high cost so I think this is legitimate.

Question to those who clipped the track: could you share your thoughts after several hundred miles.... did the clipping help to stop the wear? Did you experience any track speed loss because of extra weight? How do the clips hold? And thanks for sharing:)

On the 15 or so sleds that I have clipped we have not seen any additional wear
on the tracks.
Clips seem to help and we did here in my shop all unguided
good results.
As far as track speed, don't see any hindering from the added clips.
The hifax is now being kept an eye on though- as I feel that we are have put a bandaid on a issue that we have bought some time by doing the clipping.

Thanks! great update!

My dealer now has convinced Polaris to warranty my track. Not because of the window wear but because the wheels are now breaking through the belt at the rear. 3300kms. Buddy has most of the fibreglass rods broken in his his too. These tracks are not made for the long haul. I will run the newer track looser than spec but fully clipped from new. Also going to 8 tooth driver to reduce ratcheting.

I have a 2017 163 2.6 and the track is doing the same thing with about 200 miles and 14 hours on the sled. I took a torch and cleaned the track up and snipped a few of the larger frays. Is this still a normal wear on the 17s?
