AXYS Track Wear

One thing that helps a ton when putting the skid back in is using a ratchet strap and sucking the rear shock down a few inches.

Ordered clips and a tool from tracks USA. Removed the skid and crimping the clips on was a breeze, maybe 45 minutes. Hardest thing was putting the skid back in.

I recommend the tool that reaches over the lugs and you do not have to remove the skid as you work from outside the track and not inside.

Scratchers !!!!

Don't think you can ride down a flat trail.. and have Zero Wear on the track..

These are purpose built sleds For Dee Snow.. Why not take the clips off for less weight..

But if u have to run the trails... then you might want to think about clipping ur track.. adding 2 lbs.. Not a big deal

Id Add a few more Scratchers my .02

Tracksusa.com

I see the tracksusa web address on your post.
Does that mean they have the tool?
Or do the clips come from them?
I also see the WPS (Western Power Sports) logo on the bag of clips. This usually means any dealer can get them, but sometimes they are more expensive to buy this way.

The questions i have are these . . .

1) Does the tool (on Amazon) have the ability to put on the clips from the OUTSIDE of the track without removing the skid?

2) What clips (from Amazon) does one use on a 2016/2017 Axys 163 3" track?

3) How many of these clips will one need to add to make the track (163") "fully clipped"?

Do you have to take the skid out to use this tool, or will it work from the outside of the track with no skid removal?

He said in a previous post that no skid removal is necessary and it can be used from the outside of the track. That is why he recommended that particular tool.

But tool in the link on Amazon doesn't look like it will reach over the top of a 3" lug.
That's why the question was asked.

Timbre, can you not see the pics in post #59? Shows the Amazon tool being used right on the sled.

Yes, I did see post #57 but was not aware that was the amazon tool being used, or that it was being used on a 3" track.

You are so, so wrong with this post. If your statement was true please tell us why there is wear only were there are no clips and secondly why the hyfax is lasting for ever? We only ride trails when we have to.

No, it is easy without the skid out. The tool separates into 2 pieces to feed through the windows.

Awesome - thanks!

Do you know the part # for clips (from Amazon- hopefully)? I would like to order them at the same time i order the tool. Also, how many will be needed for a 163" track? (I would look myself, but the new sled is not here yet) :(

Thanks . . .
