Av gas or Race gas

Kinda funny how this is the so called "Rich mans sport" and most of you would rather use the cheap **** cause u wanna save a buck, hope none of you pinheads build houses with that attitude, or were all in trouble!!!

Anyone know where i can score one of those sweet snoplanes???

Rich men dont get rich by wasting money on expendable products they dont need. I used 55 gallons of fuel last week. I will go through another 55 gallons this week. In two weeks I will have saved a minimum of $100.00. Add that up over a course of a season........I really wonder who the pinhead is?
Try to talk a homeowner into 2x8 walls in a warm climate. Facts show you the 2x6 walls are overkill in that area, but because some "Pinhead" tells you you are cheap, they should spend the extra money on 2x8 walls, even though they will reap no reward. Are you catching the drift yet?
Some people think because they have a expensive toy, they need expensive fuel for it. Thats fine, keep spenging your hard earned money on it. But dont try and spin it off on someone being cheap, or the fuel is inadequate. Most of us on here that ride high mileage will prove you wrong.

well hell u get to ride alot then, I don't have access to good snow all winter long, I've probably only used a 60 gallons all year, and maybe if you rode a little less you could have a little extra time to work and make a buck, tight a s s

I ran my zed on on purple with 150 shot in the 12's for three years, all in the timing. (oh and 100ll is better than 50/50 most times because of the poor pump fuel):D

go ahead and run the crap, rather be safe than sorry, and i'm glad all of you who think av gas is great for them that you guys are above all the rest, freakin pinheads. Have access to 1000 gallons of av gas, dont' touch it though, that's for the AIRPLANE, kinda funny how they make a special gas for just an airplane eh?

"Waaaaaaa it's an airplane Waaaaaa", so do you think C-12 is made sled specific too ? With the sad display of your lack of intelligence i'm guessing you would.

You buy a turbo and now your an expert.......

woahh darko, no need to insult my intelligence here, what are you? a freakin little kid? maybe i'll have to start running it to if there is that many of you running it, runnin all 100% then?

Best ones so far on this thread are; Av gas is made for really high altitudes and is known for vapour locking :)

yea i read up more today about it and the mogas is known for vapor locking and the av seems to work fine being a higher octane.

''Avgas has a lower volatility than mogas (i.e. it does not evaporate as quickly), which can be important for high-altitude use and higher temperatures. The particular mixtures in use today are the same as when they were first developed in the 1950s and 1960s, and therefore the high-octane ratings are achieved by the addition of tetra-ethyl lead (TEL), a highly toxic substance that was phased out for car use in most countries in the 1980s. The main petroleum component used in blending avgas is alkylate, which is essentially a mixture of various isooctanes, and some refineries also use some reformate''.

New know it all's show up on this site all the time, post up some facts or substance other than a uneducated guess(opinion).

You insulted your own intelligence BTW.

If you dont like it, or your too High Class rich guy to run it then so be it. But dont start claiming BS. I've got 10,000 kms running that sh!tty cheap poor man's Airplane gas, and im going to continue to run it for the next 10,000.

Sucks to be poor..... Wish i could be part of the Rich man group. My god......

BTW, you never answered if C-12 was specific to 4 stroke stroke snowmobiles with Turbo's.

And when they introduced unleaded gas...what happened to the compression ratios of all the musclecars????gone from 12:5-1 in the L-88 down to 9-1 because of the lead resisting detonation....ps where is the rest of that article????

Work is overrated. I am giving it up. Need sponsors..........

if you want the rest of the article just go to wikepedia quite interesting actually. yea they dropped the compression ratios lots after they stopped using leaded gas.

You know someone is running short on ammo when they have to resort to using Wikipedia. Google wars at 10 paces.... LOL

We truly live amongst idiots...

No frikkin WAY people could be this stupid. No way. 100 LL is great fuel. Dynos prove it, arse dynos prove it, time and time again. Race fuel manufacturers and salesman would never steer you wrong would they?

I guess all I need, is some Wolfpack reeds, some Blue Marble oil, a super-duper hemispherical atom-smashing cold-fusion head, and some race gas. What an idiot I have been all this time.

100% ave gas all the way!

premium pump gas is never the octane its supposed to be, so when you mix you never know what octane you're running.

I buy it by the drum.
I recently bought a 120V fuel pump with a 30' fuel hose.
I fill my sled with the comfort of a gas station right at home.

when its time to get a new drum I get it dropped off on the back of my truck and when I get home I put the pump in it.
I pump the new drum into my old one, then stick the pump back in it. no lifting required. just return the empty for the deposit.

In a year I save about $1400 vs. mixing race gas.
the sled has 4000k on it. boost is at 18lbs.
