Anyone for Obama?

I stand by what I said, we do NOT give enough in foreign aid, once again... the United States gives less money when compared to % of GDP than pretty much any other developed country.
0.15% is a joke.

We are still giving more than at least 90% of developed countries.

Health care needs fixed, it is getting to the point that only the wealthy have health care. I am not saying the government should be in control of it, but do you REALLY trust YOUR life with an (for profit) insurance company?

It's better than Universl healthcare. If there's no cost to healthcare than we'll be shelling out tons of money for those that are too lazy to take care of their bodies. With Universal healthcare are we going to exclude cancer patients that have smoked for 30 yrs and put themselves in that predicament? I don't think so. but why should that fall on tax payers shoulders.

I agree it needs to be fixed but that's not how. This is one place that I agree more regulations are needed. We don't need to see 100 friggen prescription drug ads a day on TV. No matter what they say that's increaseing costs and increaseing drug seeking patients.

Road less areas.... well when you live in Colorado and see all the overdeveloping I have seen, I tend to think some road less/undevelopable areas would not be such a bad idea.

That's your state's job. Not national government's job. I don't know what the situation is like in CO but I lived in MT and Frequent ID and they've gone nuts with this stuff there. It's gone too far. Road less areas are one step from Wilderness and being shut off to all motorized use. Your not going to find many on here that aren't already sick and tired of getting areas taken away. It also significantly impacts local commerse when this happens local tax base goes down and in order to support the current local govt budget taxes then must go up and many times do.

I am not ready to jump on the global warming bandwagon but I can say that humans do effect the environment. My stepfather who has asthma can tell the air quality in Denver and in more remote areas of the state. The air literally effects how he feels. To simply say that humans don't change anything within the world, to me is crazy.

I know I will sound Liberal for that, but what is wrong with preserving our environment?
I personally like hunting and fishing in the outdoors, I would like to be able to continue to enjoy it.

Do I think we should have a complete lock down on pollution from cars, factories, etc? No

I do think we should use technology and do what we can to keep our air and water clean. I do think there is a happy medium.

I too think that there is a better way but carbon credits and locking motorized vehicles out of areas only further concentrates polution and many times forces more driving to get to areas that are open to ride. That is counter productive.

I can post all sorts of stuff from ultra right wing blogs and websites that will make Obama look like the anticrist but I won't bore everyone with that.

Also, want to be talking about preachers? Look at McCain's:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uViQ0hVV57Q

That's not his Preacher, Just one that endorsed him. And as bad as that clip sounds out of the context of the rest of the presentation, If you know the context of the story of the anticrist and the proficy surrounding it, it fits.

His endorsement is still better than the leader of hammas saying they'd like to see Obama win in my eyes anyway.

I look at it this way. If I was going to a church in which the pastor/revrend/preist was spouting racist retoric on a regular basis or even once in a while (which revrend Wright says that clip on TV is not uncommon in his church) I would leave that church and find another. The reason Obama hasn't done that is that that church is very influential to his voting base in Chicago.

On the illeagal immagration issue. I am all for anyone that wants to go through the leagal steps to come here.

The problem I have is all around me in Texas. Illeagals everywhere you look and they have no interest in learning English paying taxes and contributing to the system. They exploit our generosity at every turn. Hospitals, education systems, unlicensed and uninsured driving are 3 of the most prevelant.

In TX the underinsured/uninsured portion of my car insurance is second highest only to liability.

My property taxes are at 3.25% of assesed value per year on my home that I purchased for 126K tax valued 1 year later at 128K is just under $4200 over 3K of that goes to the school district. The school districts are under constant construction to handle population growth. Much of the growth is that of children born on US soil to illeagal parents thus making them leagal although their parents are not.

We need to shut down the border, find a way to round up the illeagal populations and give them a choice. Become a citizen, pay taxes, learn the language and contribute. OR Go home to Mexico. Then institue a true guest worker program that benefits both sides and includes taxation and only allow citizenship to those participatinng in the worker program and includes a quota that is enforced.

On Economics

As far as your little graph that shows so definatively that liberal democrates balance the budget.

The economic effects of a presidency most often times cannot be seen within their terms on a national scale. The majority of startup businesses don't show a stable profit for at least 2 - 6 years. That is if they even survive at all.

Clinton's presidency was charmed by a booming tech economy that served to greatly increase the tax base generating record tax revenue. This was largely due to technology development that was coincidentally during his presidency. We didn't have any attacks on our soil and the Russian Threat had already been deconstructed during the Reagan administration. The lack of need for Military buildup or action on a large scale frees up a tremendous amount of money to "balance the budget" with.

Let's not forget that it was during Clintons 8 year presidency that companies like Enron and Worldcom started cooking their books to artificially inflate their stock prices which on that scale can artificially inflate the market. Much like what we've seen with the price of oil due to speculators and artificial shortages by OPEC. Heck Warren Buffet decided to invest in the company that I work fore and bouth 11% of our stock which instantaineously doubled our stock price. Just think of the tax revenue that that one trade created. If you increase taxes guys like Buffet don't make moves like that and that tax revenue is lost.

Killing our country? Sure dude, having them all work here for substandard wages, providing a gigantic work force so companies can compete better and make more money. Sure sounds like killing to me. I understand it is easy to blame all our problems on Mexicans, but they are here because we (Americans) want them to be here.

Pollution bs? I know I like drinking nasty water and breathing in crappy air.... So you are trying to justify going after Saddam for his pollution habits. Sure...

The human body is the best hazardous waste disposal system ever it is called time dose response relationship. For the record everything is biodegradable.

So sending cash made in America to thier homeland helps this country? and working Americans paying for the health care helps America? please explain this?

The bad part is that it's not just Mexicans, those from the middle east are doing the same thing.

 I don't know what you are trying to say here.

For the record everything is biodegradable.
Wrong, for the record everything is not biodegradable.

It doesn't help, but I think they make more money for the owners than they actually get paid. Though it is important to note that Americans do that too in other countries.

name one thing that is not biodegradable. Be careful here americium 241 and such are biodegradable, it may take a long time but none the less biodegradable.

TDRR is that with small amount to most wastes the human body filter the waste to a non hazardous waste, so pollution will effect people but most can live through it and not see alternate effects.

steel, plastic, rocks, lots of stuff, my swingline stapler, phone, pen, marker, how big of a list do you want.

definition :capable of being broken down especially into innocuous products by the action of living things (as microorganisms)

I don't think you are using the term biodegrade correctly.

TDRR is that with small amount to most wastes the human body filter the waste to a non hazardous waste, so pollution will effect people but most can live through it and not see alternate effects.

I still don't see how this has anything to do with the discussion at hand. Or did we somehow move from pollution to medical treatments and procedures? The scale you are talking about is not applicable and an invalid argument.

To Whom It May Concern:
Why is it that all discussions about everything all lead back to the war in Iraq and how terrible America is for ousting a tyrant, so much so that alleged snowmobillers are willing to vote for people that will shut them out of their public lands. THIS IS A SNOWMOBILLING FOURM! Take your anti-war comments to the code pink blogs where they are appreciated.. You will not convince any sane person here that Obama, or any Democrat for that matter, is good for our sport. (or our country)
Oh, and I ask only one question. What if the world intelligence community was correct about Hussein, and Bush and the coalition did nothing? The picture would look much worse than it is now. I thank God Hussein had no WMD's to use against our troops. I say, GOOD CALL GW!

Just trying to gain a little perspective on where you are coming from. I too am 29. My views on many things have changed over the last 10 years drasticly with age many times your views will change through different experiences.

My views have changed as well. I voted for Bush twice. I believed in that sides policies but I now see they have not done us any good. What have we got done in 8 years? A lot of debt, poor economy, fighting an endless war, all while the wealthy have gotten wealthier. I don't expect handouts but a fair system would be nice.

We were not correct, we were far off, and American Troops are dieing because of it. If you haven't noticed the forum you are in right now is "fouled plug" which is for everything that is NOT snowmobiling related. Stop your whining, if you don't want to be involved in this conversation then don't click the topic.

Should we all have the ****k it we can't change anything attitude? Great idea

About Iraq, I've talked with soldiers that have came back, and I don't read one news source. I don't always read mainstream news. We are not wanted in Iraq, what are we accomplishing? Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11, get the ****k out of the place. Concentrate on Afghanistan.

I've had several friends come back from Iraq, all have told me they've made a difference and would go back.

I also have an uncle who is a pretty high up in the U.S. Army, been in for over 20 years and he tells me we are making a difference as well.

I'm not saying you're right or wrong and I don't have the time right now to read the last few pages.

You could talk til your blue, about Iraq, but you'll never change milehigh's opinion of it, and it has obviously changed every conservative belief he had too. My question is why Milehigh did you vote for Bush twice? I really want to know.

I guess I look at it from a diferent perspective than you. In the last 8 years I have gotten myself out of Credit card debt, bought my first home, and nearly doubled my income within the same company. It hasn't been easy and things are tight but I did it.

I believe that some things were handled poorly during the Bush administration but I don't believe the other side will do better. In fact I beleive they will do more damage especially when the economy and my personal well being are concerned.

The thing that concerns me the most, is that as far left as Obama is, many in the legislative branch are farther left. With Democratic control of the House and Senate and a Democrat as President there will be a lack of balance and could do a tremendous amount of damage in a very short time. There would be a total cotrol of the government by one party especially considering the number of judicial seats that will come up in the next presidential term. I'm not trying to paint the Democrats as nothing more than destructive but I think sometimes social touchy feely issues tend to overide sound economic priciple in their views. This could be very dangerous to both our economy and our security. The last time this happened was with the Carter administration and it threw our country into a recession that could have very easily become a depression.

Ok, so not only would Obama not put his hand over his heart during the pledge or national anthem, HE HAS YET to explain why.

He skirts the question every time, usually responding, "This is the classic dirty trick of the campaign.". He his making some sort of statement by not doing this and I want to know what it is.

Seriously ... what is this statement? You're afraid to admit you're a f*cking communist?

Seriously ...

Dog- You must really love getting Mile, ruffy, and wildcard all twisted up.

Here we go again. Time to go get some popcorn:beer;
