What do you consider a "Marxist State"?
Well to clarify this, other than Cuba show me a Communist economy.
China doesn't count. They are not a COMMUNIST economy, only their government is Communist, and neither doest North Korea.
Cuba is actually a self-supporting economy, while they might not have GREAT conditions they are doing it on their own. If they didn't have a blockade things would certainly be different.
While Karl Marx was very radical, he has MANY valid points. Capitalism helps the rich. Yes, it does help middle and lower class, but not near as much as the upper class. Trickle down economics is complete bull****. It is like a pyramid scheme.
I don't have all the answers, nor do I think I do but I have honestly investigated both sides of the argument.
I do know that we cannot continue spending money while lowering taxes. It is like having a job and going from working 40 hours a week to 20 while increasing what you are buying. We are borrowing money from China and passing our debt onto my grandchildren. Obama does have a plan to balance the budget and yes that will include taxation. Pay it off now or continue to pay crazy interest rates on those Trillions.
What damage is Obama going to do? Stop spending money recklessly?
spock
OK, I gotta hijack for a minute. Sorry.
Just what does that hand signal supposed to mean?
And
Why does making that hand signal force you to make a face simulating the straining
required to s h i t out a nerf football?
Heres a question for ya.
When you go to balance the budget, the one major way you do that is to curb spending.
Yet he has already stated (and I believe put forward legislation) he wants to increase by a factor of 4 the money we give away to other countries.
He wants to cut military spending (Clinton did that and it was a disaster for our military).
Obama wants to increase domestic spending on social programs.
How do you do all this??
You tax the living chit outta everyone in the country.
Everyone keeps talking about how he will change things.
Yet I have not seen ANYTHING that shows me he will change it for the better.
If you like the idea of your taxes tripling, then I guess that would be a change.
If you like the idea of surrendering to terrorist, then I guess that would be a change also.
LEts not forget he wants to do away with boarders and let everyone come and go as they please. I guess if you like drug lords and terrorists simply walking into the country, that would be a change.
Yes, he is the candidate for change, but I don't think it will be change for the better.
I just read that and he doesn't say ANYTHING about getting rid of snowmobiles. You know, I could be wrong.
It may indeed be Hillary. I was watching CNN a few weeks back.
However, I decided to check it out a little more.
I went to Obama's web page and read up on his Enviromental standards.
HOLY **** IS THIS GUY SCARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://www.barackobama.com/issues/energy/
Kiss your riding goodbye.
This guy is seriously OUT THERE!
He talks about getting spending undercontrol. Read the Enviromental standards at the bottom of the link.
Everything he talks about will cost BILLIONS each. Where do you think all the money is going to come from?
Cuba is exactly the one that comes to mind.
I agree 100% on the spending thing however at this point in time (which is the only relevant one for this discussion) just pulling out of Iraq is not a good place to do it. The country will descend into civil war and I'm about 90% sure someone that Iran backs would win. I don't think we should have gone in there in the first place. Afghanistan yes Iraq no but it's too late to change that.
We need to look at our government spending and not at spending more in the form of "universal health care" (which both Obama and Hillary support in some form or another) and increasing the amount we give to other countries by .7% GDP or the numerous other social programs that Obama, Hillary, and others back.
That is how I feel.
I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Edwards.
I just read that and he doesn't say ANYTHING about getting rid of snowmobiles.
He also doesn't say anything about limiting CO2 emissions from off highway vehicles.
I have no problem with trying to reduce our foreign oil demand or trying to cut back on emissions from vehicles and asking for more MPG from cars. Increasing biofuels, etc.
The deal with Iraq is the government there, the people there want us out. We are really not accomplishing much anymore. We are kind of standing there twiddling our thumbs waiting to get attacked. Leave, if they want us out then get out. If they go into Civil war, it is their problem. They say they can now do it without us, so let them do it without us.
That's what the media that wants liberal politicians in would like you to believe. Whens the last time you have seen much of any good news in a paper or on TV? They are very few and far between, good news doesn't sell papers and get ratings. Bad news and outrageousness does. A good friend of mine just got back about 6 months ago and she says that the majority of people are happy to have them there, take them into their homes, feed them, and appreciate their efforts. Some of course do not want us there but they are the minority. They realize what they are going to achieve in the form of freedom.
I have no problem giving .7% of our GDP to other countries. It would be a small increase to what we give now.
That .7% GDP is 4 times what we give now. And your mad about spending on the war? Free handouts might make us look good but isn't going to change the image of the USA in the rest of the world, they will still hate us.
While I do not think National Healthcare is the answer, we do need to do something to fix the system.
As far as health care goes the govt. needs to keep it's hands out of it. I look at it like this. The VA system is the most screwed up health care system in this country. Universal Health care is a nation wide version of this. If they can't get it right for the vets just think about how much it would screw up to go nation wide. Personally I think they should get rid of the VA system and just give the vets a voucher or card that gets them govt paid services wherever they go and get rid of all the friggen bureaucracy in the system and that alone would pay for the increases in the care. Bigger Government oversight means more spending More spending equals more taxes or more debt.
