Anyone for Obama?

I'll put it this way. I don't care about the pointless crap, such as why he doesn't wear an American flag or put his hand where people thing he should, when a pledge is being said. It's a free country.

What I think people need to pay attention too, is the guy has little or no experience. His positions and intentions are not well understood. All this talk of change, what's he going to do? Raise taxes, raise unemployment, raise entitlements, and sign us up to the Kyoto Protocol. Think about who he's talking too. He will make Al Gore some cabinet member of the environment. He will hug the anti-war crowd and cut the military. How will he ignore calls for reparation of decedents of slaves?

It will be interesting to see what he does. I somehow think he may single handily cause a resurgence in the Republican party. Someone worthy my finally feel compelled to step forward and run.

Don't you feel like your in a movie, where the good guy knows were all being set up for a fall, but no one's listening. Inhale deep the sweet smell of change.

^^^^^Exactly what I Fear will happen with him.

In a way I almost hope he wins just to send home the point, but i fear it will come with the cost of what's left of our economy and rights, If I wanted to live in a European nation I would move there.

steel, plastic, rocks, lots of stuff, my swingline stapler, phone, pen, marker, how big of a list do you want.

definition :capable of being broken down especially into innocuous products by the action of living things (as microorganisms)

I don't think you are using the term biodegrade correctly.

I still don't see how this has anything to do with the discussion at hand. Or did we somehow move from pollution to medical treatments and procedures? The scale you are talking about is not applicable and an invalid argument.

There is a place called the glass beach on west shore of Kauai, at one time this was the dump. There are many bits of steel ring gears, leaf spring, tires, and so on that has degraded in sea water, I would call the bio degradation. Or on 8-6-45 there was a radiation release in Japan, some 63 years later there is little back ground radiation left, bio degradation? or radiation scubbers?

Ah good internet searching on tdrr, medical treatment. Look a bit deeper than a medical treatment, say the water is contaminated with methyl ethyl death; the human body can drink small amounts of this water without ever seeing an adverse effect.

That is a statement I couldn't agree with more.
There is no doubt he will do some very BAD things to the country, the only question is. How much damage will he do before people wake up?? I do believe he thinks he is going to do great things for the country, unfortunetly I don't think he has a clue what he is doing. It is easy to see a great future when you look thru rosy glasses. As with Bill Clinton it could take 5-8 years before the full nature of what he does comes to the surface.

I don't think he will make it. At least I hope not.
He hasn't even begun to be put under the scope yet. He is upset and yelling becaue his wife has been called on the mat for her comments. Just wait till it gets nasty. The guy is gonna loose it.

I don't disagree that there are problems at the border towns. But to extrapolate that to problems with Mexicans in the entire US is too much.

Kind of a chicken or egg argument. I won't dig a trench for $3 bucks and hour, but I will dig one for a long time at $500 bucks an hour. All I know is that when looking around, there is a lot of Mexican labor, and there are help wanted signs all around too. To blame it all on employers is not correct. If employers charged more for there services/products, then they could loose out on business. Increase the cost of the goods/labor enough and the jobs will just move overseas, screwing everyone.

THIS is exactly where workfare would help, instead of giving someone welfare to NOT work, how about subsidize the lower pay to make it livable for US citizens? That way the employer wins, the worker wins and the government quits paying people to not work while our businesses need employees and are forced to hire illegals to survive.

The problem with that is that then the employers will always pay the lowest possible wage with no hope of ever getting out of the hole for the employee.

Better idea, get rid of the illigals and when the cheap azzed employer can't get people to work for him/her he will pay better wages.

As for welfare, if you are capable of working you should work.
Give them a time period to get back on their feet them drop em. welfare and unemployment are supposed to be a crutch to get thru the really low points between jobs, not as a sole source of income.

I agree with you BUT can we afford to buy lettuce, peaches, etc. if the wage goes to $8 - $12 (or higher) an hour to harvest them? Making the people that milk the system by relying on welfare to pay their way and get people off unemployment would be a great step in the right direction. So would ridding the US of illegal aliens, if they are here ILLEGALLY they are criminals, why do we want more criminals?

Those are not examples of biodegrading..... the first sounds like erosion and the second is due to natural decay of radiation isotopes or something like that. I think you are missing the fact that it needs to be broken down biologically.

Seems like if you expected me to spend a lot of time trying to research the definition of obscure terminology, you could of just posted a link to what you were talking about and avoided some confusion...... but you still aren't making a clear point with it. So you think all pollution is BS?

I agree with a lot here, but I think you are taking a jaded approach (probably rightly justified from experience). If he walks the talk, I think he could be a great president. If he turns out to be just like the rest of the political monkeys, well, sucks to be us. I think the fact that he doesn't have much experience is a good thing. I look at all the guys with experience in congress and they seem to be more about being a part of the problem then a part of the solution. He seems like the most real candidate out there. He seems like he is genuinely trying to do some good. Though if it is all a show or not, we will probably soon find out.

According to the talking heads on sunday morning shows (take it for what it's worth) if they paid the people more to pick lettuce and fruit the cost to the consumer would go up by pennies.

The farm aspect wouldn't really change. There are people in mexico that are protesting any amnesty deal. They come up here, pick the veggies and such then go home. That is their yearly income. They have no desire to stay here. If we need more of them, then just raise the visa quota, no biggy. There are millions standing in line to get ag visas.

The main thing that would be impacted by getting rid of illigals would be the low skill or semi skilled labor pools. Jobs like carpenter, concrete workers, welders and such. Those are the primary jobs the illigals are taking.

When they raided Swift and company in greeley everyone yelled "what will we do, there is no-one to do the jobs". Guess what?

Swift raised their wages by 3 dollars an hour and had people litterally lined up around the block to get those jobs. Has the cost of your steak gone thru the roof as a result? No.

I agree, but still think we need to get rid of welfare and it could be replaced with a workfare type program. The Dems are all about amnesty and handouts (for the votes) and that will not change so why not make the people work for their money. Isn't that a novel concept. I heard that there was one community in the country that was trying to get a law passed that would allow the police to impound a vehicle if the driver was unlicensed, the ACLU was fighting that due to it picks on illegals. That's BS illegal is still illegal = breaking the law.

Taken from his website...

Barack Obama's Plan
Create Secure Borders
Obama wants to preserve the integrity of our borders. He supports additional
personnel, infrastructure and technology on the border and at our ports of entry.

Improve Our Immigration System
Obama believes we must fix the dysfunctional immigration bureaucracy and increase the number of legal immigrants to keep families together and meet the demand for jobs that employers cannot fill.

Remove Incentives to Enter Illegally
Obama will remove incentives to enter the country illegally by cracking down on employers who hire undocumented immigrants.

Bring People Out of the Shadows
Obama supports a system that allows undocumented immigrants who are in good standing to pay a fine, learn English, and go to the back of the line for the opportunity to become citizens.

Work with Mexico
Obama believes we need to do more to promote economic development in Mexico to decrease illegal immigration.

I am not sure why people think all democrats are for full amnesty.... sure doesn't sound like it from his stance shown in the quote above which is taken from his own website. Seems like a pretty good means of coming to a workable solution. To many times people want 1 big solution to fix a problem. When in reality, implementing many solutions covering the problem from different angles is a better means at fixing the problem.

I'm not sure what it is, but why is that only people on the coasts like Hussein? Whenever I see a street interview where people say they are going to vote for Hussein, they are in one of the states on the east or west coast?

I don't remember where I read it at(or the how true it was) but al qaeda has proclaimed that the US will fall in the next presidency, and they will make it happen from the inside out.

Because nobody cares about the midwest!:p

I have heard that too, and always wondered why it is directed at Obama and not the other candidates. Seems like if his name was Frank Murphy, people wouldn't care as much, but since he has an ethnic name, he must be up to no good.

TDRR: Toxic substances that enter the human body may be characterized by a time-dose/response relationship. The response is dependent on the dose, or how much of a substance is taken over a period of time. A quart of alcohol gradually consumed over a year’s time will likely have no measurable response. However if the same quart of alcohol is consumed within one hour the response could be fatal. Other contributing factors to response may include the chemical combinations and physical characteristics of the substance. For a substance to have a toxic effect, several conditions are necessary: a sufficient amount of a substance, a pathway to get the material into the body, absorption by the target organ of the body and a limited period of dose time that overcomes the body’s defense mechanisms .PG 39 Environmental Health and Safety For the Hazardous Waste Sites. 2002 AIHA

There is no legal definition of “biodegradable,” but the American Society for Testing and Materials defines the term as “a degradation caused by biological activity, especially by enzymatic action, leading to a significant change in the chemical structure of the material. So Fe to Fe203

Because nobody cares about the midwest!:p
lol, guess I should have added when anyone does venture into the midwest people would vote for just about anybody else

I think its just the name, refusal to say the pledge of allegiance or wear a flag, needs to be sworn in on a Koran(even though he now claims he's not muslim) his preacher's anti-white speech, you know just the little things......but when this many little things come together it does make you wonder

You could talk til your blue, about Iraq, but you'll never change milehigh's opinion of it, and it has obviously changed every conservative belief he had too. My question is why Milehigh did you vote for Bush twice? I really want to know.

Because I thought he would be the best option. I don't vote along party lines, I vote for who I think will do a better job.

According to the talking heads on sunday morning shows (take it for what it's worth) if they paid the people more to pick lettuce and fruit the cost to the consumer would go up by pennies.

In Brighton there are a couple family farms here and they rely on LEGAL immigrants to help them out. Of course this year the administration cut back the number of legal VISA's being issued (stupid move). There are two farms here that are not harvesting. So now instead of being able to buy locally grown produce and help the local economy many people will be buying from Wal-Mart.

I'm not sure what it is, but why is that only people on the coasts like Hussein? Whenever I see a street interview where people say they are going to vote for Hussein, they are in one of the states on the east or west coast?

Maybe because most major media sources are in California or New York?

I don't remember where I read it at(or the how true it was) but al qaeda has proclaimed that the US will fall in the next presidency, and they will make it happen from the inside out.

Al Quaida has made many claims that have not came true, it is simple fear mongering.

ok, so lets look at this shall we....
Break it down into politcal speach.

Quote:
Barack Obama's Plan
Create Secure Borders
Obama wants to preserve the integrity of our borders. He supports additional
personnel, infrastructure and technology on the border and at our ports of entry.

(nowhere does it say he will secure our boarder. He has stated at numorous speeking stops he thinks we should do away with boarders so we can compete with europe

Improve Our Immigration System
Obama believes we must fix the dysfunctional immigration bureaucracy and increase the number of legal immigrants to keep families together and meet the demand for jobs that employers cannot fill.

Fix the dysfunctional immigration system means increasing the number of people coming into this country. By doing away with the southern boarder, no visa's. Thus system fixed. He wants to keep families together. that means you will be supporting grandma, grandpa from both sides of his family as well as all the uncles, aunts, cousins, etc. It is called chain migration and is happening as we speak

Remove Incentives to Enter Illegally
Obama will remove incentives to enter the country illegally by cracking down on employers who hire undocumented immigrants.

How exactly do you think they will do that. There is a bill before congress now that would do just that. The dems are blocking it from coming up for a vote. they say it will cost to much and won't work. This is the exact same provision they had in their comprehesive immigration reform that they pushed a year or so ago, but now won't work. That tells me they never intended to stop the hiring of illigal workers to begin with. They lied in 86 and they are lieing now

Bring People Out of the Shadows
Obama supports a system that allows undocumented immigrants who are in good standing to pay a fine, learn English, and go to the back of the line for the opportunity to become citizens.

Translation. Amnesty. They keep talking about back of the line. THERE IS NO LINE. Would someone please show me the line

Work with Mexico
Obama believes we need to do more to promote economic development in Mexico to decrease illegal immigration.

Isn't that what the free trade act was supposed to do? Until mexico controls their crime lords we could throw our entire countries wealth at mexico and not make a dent. To much corruption
