I sold my 08 m10 at the beginning of last year. went to a mod 01 mxz 800, had some issues that I am just now resolving and ended up riding my 01 yamaha mm 600 for the season. But I must say I have never done so well on selling a sled, got a hell of a deal on it new, in the end it was only $500 for me to ride the m10 all season.

All you whiners complaining about your 06, 07, 08 sleds, sheesh
I'll be running my "old iron" 03 Escape again, most likely stock for yet another year. It gets the job done, and its paid for so i can't complain too much.

04 REV-X 151, minus 40#, 0 payments. The only limits to this sled is the operator. I'd rather spend my limited recreation funds on gas/oil/transportation/lodgings than on the bling of a new sled that is marginally better than what I ride now.

I too am going to be riding a older sled. Just can't get myself to spend 6000 on something I'm just going to tear apart & dump another 3000 into. Besides that I haven't figured out how to get a triple into a M chassie YET...

I sold my dads 07 m8, snowchecked a 2010 m8, worked my butt off this summer to pay for it. still need to earn some more. and my dad will be on my 07 m8 with the slp set up. Everything you guys have been saying has been making a lot of sense. Why sell old for a new when you can dump some money into mods. Thats what I'll do with this 2010 mod it and keep it for longer than 3 years........thats the plan anyways

I would have went with porting first and a RKT head. They run so much better when they are ported. I ported all my race bikes but I never ported the sled until this one. I should have known better! Hope it works for ya.

That there says it all. I ride a o4 Rev-x 800 159", it does everything I want it to and good enough for me.

I think with the bottom dropping out of used sled prices and the combination of a "scared" economy we will find most are just riding there old iron as is or modding up.

As for me I am pouring cash into a ole 900 poo so you can say I am still stimulating the economy

lol i upgraded this year went from a 00 rmk to a nice 02 edge.

it was worth the upgrade, plus i already have a fairly decent amount into upgrades already, but it's nice doing everything with cash

but i did get a new tow rig, so there went any chance of getting a newer sled than i already have. lol
