know i've spent hours searching for the best deal, sure would love to have an 09 or 2010 M. BUT with the economy where it is and my bussiness going up and down like a yo-yo i just couldn't justify spending the cash, even with the little womans permission:) so have decided to dump another couple grand into the old 07, which seems like a waste because it won't make it worth a penny more when i go to sell it. but will get me updated to pretty much the same weight, even a little less, and hp. was on the fence for the last couple of months but if i buy new i still have to add another grand or 2 in options to get everything set-up like my 07. poor me i guess i should be happy i can afford the couple of grand for mods... did i mention i sure would love to have a new sled???

I know what you mean, I would like a new sled every couple years but I put too much in mods on my 08 M 1000 and I like it so I'll run it another year. BDX tunnel mod, BDX oil elimination, BDX Air Box, BDX two wheel kit,BDX PV elimination, SLP pipe, can , Attitude Box, riser, Digitron, Mountain addiction gas cans, Boss seat, hood vents, bike man fuel regulator, muffpot. Opps forgot the BDX diamond drive lite, no reverse. It definatly lightened up.

Here's my 2 cents. Save your cash for trips and ride your sled as it is. Watch the 2010's and see if they live up to expectation. Then if a few months you can choose between 2009, 2010, and 2011.

I was planning to mod the ol m7 and run it another year...but no extra even for mods...oh well, I can probably still at least follow the big kids, and see if the '10's are any good.

Still wanna ride...
John

well my modded 07 has more hp then the 2010...way more...alot lighter...and i mean alot...better suspension...etc etc and the list goes on and on...i will never sell it and for alot less money each year with mods vs the money lost on trade ins/selling/buying etc i don;t think the manufactures can ever build a sled close to what my baby is now and with continuing tweaks..

Even a semi modded sled that you really like is worth much more than a new one in my opinion. I plan on riding my rev for many years to come...limitations of a college student and all.

Just graduated from college with my bachelors degree a little over a month ago, with the bleak job market, and sledding being more of a want than a need, I'm just gonna toss a top end in the old ZX and ride it another season.

yup....there is NO stock sled that ur not going to dump 3 grand plus into by the time ur done. mod what u have and when the new stock sleds r kickin ur *** then buy a new one and mod it.usually like 5 years or so, maybe longer ?? Plus its fun !! very hard for a stocker to weigh 425 or so wet and 200 hp.

I bought new last year and just swapped my mods over, cost me $2000 to go from a 07 to a 09, I couldn't have made my 07 that good for 2k

already have the bdx bumper kit, 2 wheel kit, 3 inch riser, goldfinger, headlight deletes, nosno running boards, side vents, heat protection, speedwerx bra, petscreened vents, shift assist, handgaurds, tether, deleted kill/tors, plus a couple of other things i'm sure i'm forgetting. gonna add full slp pipe, bd box, bdx intake, clutching, new 2010 ac seat, top end rebuild, bdx oil pump delete, boyseen reeds, powerclaw, either a af gauge or egts. plus a couple of more little goodies. should get me around another year...

What year though.

I am in the same sitiution with my sled right now. I want to sell my rt1000 and get a xp but my sled has way more power and is dialed in. Last year my buddy and i were taking turns on each sled and the only gain the xp had was it was lighter and easier to manuever. I just cant decide if its worth selling my sled and spending 5000+ to get into a xp and not have as much power.

mines an 07... i'd really like to have the 09 and up diamond drive. the 07-08 diamond drives leave a lot to be desired... will be rebuilding the one i blew last season to stick in my truck as a backup for this season.

actually, if ya got the cash now is the time to buy...

i upgraded from a 1990 phazer to a 09 600 rmk and i am thinkin its gonna be a lot nicer :D

Grateful

Well dudes, I'll one up you. I'll be selling the 08 M8 this year and go back to riding daddy's 99 MM700. Oh boy is that going to be tough on the old ego. At the same time, at least I still get to ride.

I sold my 08 m10 at the beginning of last year. went to a mod 01 mxz 800, had some issues that I am just now resolving and ended up riding my 01 yamaha mm 600 for the season. But I must say I have never done so well on selling a sled, got a hell of a deal on it new, in the end it was only $500 for me to ride the m10 all season.
