Anybody ever ride any older chassis Cougars?

And I am sure they are all used and abused and lacking the proper lubrication! Send them my way, I am sure I can find someone to tune them up for one last ride!

might ask to see some pics first. some have been rode pretty hard and put away wet. yardfarmer is not very good on his maintainence, either.

The only requirement is that majority of the parts are still there, they need to run (barely counts too) and moving is an added bonus. I have a few buddies that really like to take old machines and lube every grease orfice, switch out headlights, and play with the snow flaps. So basically what I am trying to say, yardfarmers junk is another mans treasure. So no pics required!

Some of those ol'heavy cougars are the way to go. Don't get rode so much do to the newer lighter ones, sure do seem to really giver when fired up. Real fun untill the boys find out you were riding the heavy one:D:beer;

All fun and games til someone finds out hahahahaha!!!!! I don't mind an ol heavy one either as long as i keep the cover on its all the same:D:beer;

Gotta tell ya the last heavy chassis I was on remided me of the old Doo's w/PRS & C7. Yupp I was riding but really hating it, Seems like a real long time ago thankfully :D

I don't own a cougar anymore, I'm a little old to stay on top of one all the time. I do rent one every time I go through Nevada. There are some great rental outfits. Any of the Cat House franchise stores have a nice selection of cougars. They let you ride them however you want with no guilt afterward. Just make sure it has been cleaned since the last rental and that no marvel mystery oil was left in the cylinder.

Hey, as long as they start when you want 'em to and they don't break down on you then it's all good right?

I would have to draw the line on riding any cougar with saggy suspension or headlights that shot off in all different directions.
I mean come on, show some pride in your ride.
And I wouldn't want to ride a stinky cougar either.
Running a little rich is one thing but when they start fouling out and black crud starts dripping from the exhaust port then it's time for an upgrade.
A new wrap is not considered an effective enough uprage either.

i would love to ride one with a new top end MAYBE WITH SOME BIGGER JUGGS. i wouldn't want onw that has had the bottom end bored out to fit a bigger crankshaft though

1st time posting but long time lurker.
I have to say this is the funniest thread I have ever read on any of the sled forums.
My stomach hurts and my coworkers are wondering what I keep laughing at, and why tears are rolling down:)

Sidehiller, here is a beer for you:beer;. That right there is some funny shat!

I prefer that the coug has had time to completely cool down before I take it for a ride. That way you are sure all the "Marvel Mystery oil" from the previous rider has had time to exit the ports properly!
