Anybody ever ride any older chassis Cougars?

good i thought you were just blind
lol i get that alot:D:beer; its all about affordablility for me.. the only reason i ditched my '92 indy/xlt conversion was because i came across a sweet deal on some newer polaris parts.. guy didn't know how to fix the driver bearing to make his track turn on his 55oF 2-up. gave it to me for free, mint condition too! got rid of the 2-up crap (reverse, electric start, tunnel,seat, gastank) and added an '05 edge tunnel i've had for a while. going to fab up an MX seat to fit it... Its awesome casue it's all been free so far.. sure i need a new motor but the 550F will work for toolin around until i can afford some HP

every time I see a newer sled for sale, I can't help but think that, despite the good looks, someone just got tired of putting up with its crap.

No kidding. Some people are a little slow today, lol. Great thread BTW. I've always ridden newer models but some day I'll see what all the hype is over the older chassis'.

Was just curious since one of my sled buddies seems to think they are a little older chassis but they handle so much better. He said they are way less maintenence then the newer models as well??? This baffles me since all of the components have got some good miles on them..but it must be the operating costs he is referring to. He has sworn off newer models and says the vintage is the only way to go......Comments? Oh he is refusing to let me post a picture of the chassis in fear it will have most of you wanting to ride it.

OMFG i totally see it now!!!!! Thats a good twist, guess you'd have to know the meaning to get it.. I've always heard of em referred to as prowlers... well the red face affect struck home here... good one guys:beer;:beer;:beer;

A cougar may have an older chassis with more wear and tear, but if set up right with some simple mods and regular maintenence can be much more fun to ride and are usually more experienced.
You don't have to take it easy on them, you can ride them hard and go places some newer models won't.

are we talking sleds here

or is this the new muff pot smells like tuna thread?

i have been riding late models all my life and have been dreaming of getting a cougar for me and the wife to ride 2 up for an evening.

hell your picky...only riding in the evening. I'd take any time.

anyone ever had them vintage silver fox sleds?
