hood from the side and front...i really like it, the wife says its the ugliest thing she has ever seen, lol...what do they know???

IMG_20101123_204322.jpg

you can see the way the hood lines up, but looks funny without side panels there...thats gonna be a trick on getting them to line up and secured nice and tight??
IMG_20101123_204401.jpg

what it looks like from the drivers seat ;) the gap isnt too bad, plus the hood straps will secure it tighter..but overall, not as bad as i thought it was gonna be, lol.

i had to get the removable Orange Vent panels for the hood froom Skinz as a custom order...they are darker orange then i would have liked, but beggers cant be chooses...and they were great to work with as always...(thanks tammy ;))

Looks pretty sweet, almost ridable, planning to leave the body off so everyone can admire the powder coat? That does look like a pretty big gap right above your clutch for snow to get in. Is that hood supposed to match up with the newer style plastic or the older?

yeh its getting close...just ordered all the solid rivots (like the original VE uses) and the install tools today...so when i get them, i can powder coat them and install the cooler/coolant and start this pig and if all good, button it up ;)

the body is installed?? its super new hi-tek stuff..its clear ;)

the hood will line up to ANY IQ chassis...but i have the 09 hood hinge on the hood....so, i will be using the 09 plastics i guess ;)

Hey, thats gotta be my speedo! Worked fine when I took it off. Don't know why you're going 15 mph on the stand in the garage- Maybe the wicked fast powdercoat paint? All jokes aside, it's definitely an inspiration to all 900 'ers. Wish I could make it to Revy to see it.

LOL, yeh thats your old speedo, i noticed the 15mph when i was installing them?? hopefully it resets back when pwr is applied, lol...

thank you for the compliements sir...much appreciated...it almost ended the marraige...more then once, hahaha.

Well, there are those who are inspired to do a piece of work, then there are those who just show up - and walk through the door. You are of the latter I would say. Good work!

got the VE style rivots (actually they are aircraft solid aluminum rivots), just waiting on the install tool for the air hammer to actually install them.

i will have to powder caot all the rivots to get them to match the rest of the sled...what a PINA!!

was messing around with the plastic today...NOT a pleasant expierence...the nose of coarse fits fine, the fenders are pretty good and shouldnt be an issue...

NOW...as for the side panels and the hood lining up, FML!! They are not so "perfect" the chassis hoop is about 1" too far back...otherise it would be pretty close and not much of an issue, but its too late to move it...not sure what im gonna do to get the hood/side panels to match and not look like chit...

the hood hits the FNI intake pretty bad as well. i dont know of anyone else with a 900 using the SKINZ mesh hood, so dont think this has been brought to our attention yet. its such low profile it hits the intake.......

did about a whole 30 mins in the garage messing with some stuff, got frustrated and walked out...

i leave for utah for xmas, and the first sled ride of the season in 21 days...OMFG!!

There, i feel better now, lol...

Pressure the great motivator! Looks GREAT Sean
Bet you can't sleep now waiting for that first Ride!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL...

oh the pressure is on for sure...2 weeks to finsih it and i have lots to do...

No the only reason i cant sleep is, cause im either stressing money, stressing the sled being done, stressing the sled being done, or stressing the sled being done....:face-icon-small-con

ok..little update.

i got the baby purring the other day, had a broken wire on the hood harness so the gauges didnt work, did some troubleshooting and found it, repaired..all good, no codes, runs like a champ...

--need to install the newly balanced clutch from Indydan that will be here thursday
--need to bleed/add coolant
--track tension/alignment
--ski alignment
--install hood straps and side panel straps
--get the crack in the slp pipe welded up
--and a few small things i can do when the rest above is done

here is the latest in progress...

installed the custom made ORANGE SKINZ float plate, perfect fit and LOTS of coverage, holy smokes...I'LL NEED EVERY BIT OF OF IT TOO!!!

IMG_20101201_203340.jpg

powder coated the ski bolt washers orange, lol...why not?? haha..
powder coated the ZBROZ sway bar bracket orange as well

IMG_20101206_164210.jpg

IMG_20101206_164153.jpg

installed the FNI HiFlo Shock vents....WOW they are awesome...very nice and long, and will provide a TON of airflow...HIGHLY recommend them

you can also see the Mountain Fit Hoods front Nose pan vents...great addition to get some cool air in around the pipe.

IMG_20101206_163230.jpg

IMG_20101206_154826.jpg

installed the Dragon belt cover, of coarse i did it in orange, installed the Capacitor in the oem location for the newer sleds...
if i would have known this summer i was gonna use this cover, i would have tried to convert all the electronics to the belt cover like the dragons as well.

IMG_20101206_154835.jpg

IMG_20101206_160457.jpg

what do you guys think??

you can see i had to change shocks around again...

long story short, i am using the zero pros that are too long for the 40" arms, on my 05 with 41" holz arms now, so gonna use the floats off my 05 900 instead...so it all worked out in the long run anyways..

also had to make a CHITTY intake for the sled..i dont have the money to get a FNI intake for some time, and dont have the time to make my own intake like Biggdawg did...so will work on that in Jan, but i mocked this crappy one up just so i can make it to utah on the 17th and ride for a week...

It looks pretty sweet. Those are some serious vents you have on there, won't be any heat problem for sure.

little update.

i am pretty much done.

need to tie up a few small things and its official

--weld crack in bottom of SLP pipe
--Bleed brake caliper
--rail protectors from the ice scrathers
--will get an EGT bracket from TurboBoyz when i am in Utah
--re-due the intake setup
--replace the bent front bumper
--after the bumper is replaced i will need to work the fenders a little to get them to line up better.
