An end to track length debates!

Hey Hooch, im living in Cheney. Its not to far over to Kalispel for me. Got an xp with a 63 on it that has yet to be slaughtered off in the trees. Im interested to see how you do it. Will have the sled over here for the weekend of the 21st. Give me a call 1 509 560 0935. Always looking to have someone teach me sumthin:rolleyes:

Triple 7 what length do the best tree rideres you have seen use. Don, norm, late josh, dale, dave knight all those guys can ride pretty damn good 154 all day long. Dale has a 163 though i think

trust me i will out climb, out boondock anybody on any track length if they think they are rowdy! The 174" is king dick, and challenge anybody who thinks there short track can beat me to pm me and i will show them the real deal!!!!!!! if your in the valley area i will take you on.. so far there has been only only one guy to beat me and thats richboy202@hotmail.com!......

looks like i have a new hero......
must be great to be you hooch

my personal opinion, you can spend thousands of dollars and put the biggest baddest track on your sled and get your a$$ handed to you by someone with a smaller sled and more skill. Your sled might look cool and you can climb to the top but most of us will be laughing at you rolling down. Skill is what makes you a good rider, not your sled. Not even close to saying im the best, just my $.02

hahaha true that, gives us something to do when we arent out sleddin around, plus everyone i have talked to that has a 174 loves it and recommends it to me, not one person with one has told me not to do it, sounds damn good to me

Well Josh ran a 54 and was lethal with it. But he did run over as many trees as he went around!!! It was a great working setup with 140 lbs of Josh on board. However, Don, Dale, DJ and myself all run 163s. Side by side comparison, switching sleds we all agreed (Josh included) that the 63 on an XP platform worked better in the technical riding. It will just pull on top quicker and keep trenching longer than the shorter track. Not sure what Norm and Dave are running...haven't ridden with them. Any track can work. People that think a 163 doesnt work as well as a shorter track because it doesnt flick around enough are wrong. Plain and simple. I believe that in the right hands a 174 can snake through the trees. The problem that I can see is whether or not a stock or near stock powered sled can build QUICK enough track speed with that much track. Im going to go riding with Mr Hooch and I will report back. I will say that under some conditions the quicker track speed of the 54 was an advantage. Logger155, who are you??

well. i'll up the bet and add 2 cases of beer........my money is on ragincajun.......:beer;:beer;:beer;:beer;

Look people I weight 350 and ride a 01 summit highmark 800 151. this sled will take me anywhere I can climb,float through the pow and ride with kids o the trailer. So like another post said track speed and ability is all you need

Honestly it's not all about track length. When it comes down to it the rider with most expierence will go anywhere a longer track will go. My 151 stays right with my dads Apex 162.
