Alpine/Star Valley riders thread.

3" of wet snow last night at my place in Star Valley Ranch. Should be good snow up top im headed up there tommorrow morning. Avalanche danger will be really high tommorrow especialy around noon to 4 or 5 in the afternoon. suposed to be in the 40's again and mid 30's up top.

not really. Still light powder in shaded areas but its mostly all spring conditions up in the greys. Ice in the mornings and slush in the afternoon.

Rode Blind Bull today. There was some decent accumulation and it was snowing hard. Snow was nice and light as well.

What side did you come in from? Rode to blindbull last week from the Pinedale side, and it was very slim down low.

Rode from Alpine. It was really thin, with a few bare patches down lower. However, it was snowing on the way out and getting better.

Murphy is about 15 miles into the Greys from the Alpine side and I think Blind Bull is about 30. I have never ridden into Blind bull cause it is about sixty miles of trail in and back and not much gas left to play. I dont know the area other than a few hunting trips in the fall. Never rode any farther than Box Y for lunch.

Box Y is close to Blind Bull and they advertise that they have gas (http://www.boxylodge.com/).

rode in the bowls up in the greys saturday. We took our film crew up there but we drove 5 miles up the road just to unload and have a few bare spots and rocks on the way up. ridding was awesome saturday with a foot of fresh at 10,000 ft.

National Weather Service is calling for another foot of fresh by this weekend up top. Weather here has been on the wild side the past few weeks. Yesterday and today it was in the upper 50's and 60's and tommorrow its supposed to start snowing and not stop for the next 4 to 5 days. winter just doesnt want to let go......

yeah it was me. figured that was you on the green xp. Damn good ridding up there for late April. Looks like some more pow for this weekend woke up this morning to an inch of fresh on my truck at the ranch. Either prater canyon or the bowls this weekned or both....
