Alaska Conditions and BSing Statewide

Please pray

I got a call this afternoon from a good friend about a tragedy that took place yesterday. Our state snoX champ Robert Graeber was in a serious accident while racing in New York. Apparently in the last race of the day, he was landed on from behind by another rider. His tek vest was shredded off his body (skin torn off his back) as he was pushed in to the bars & risers. The injuries to his neck and lower back are not allowing him to move his legs... indicating a strong likelihood of paralysis. He has had 12 hours of surgery to repair the damage to his heart and work on his back injuries.

Please pray for Roberts recovery and for strength for the family and friends. AMMC is having an emergency meeting to set up a fund for people to be able to contribute to. There will undoubtedly be an exorbitant expense for the family to be able to tend to him and help with his recovery. As soon as I know more info - I will share with those willing to contribute. Even if you do not know the Graebers please keep them in your prayers. Thank you!!

It has been a rough start to 2008 - lets hope it gets better from here. Ride safe everybody.

Him and his family are in my prayers. The 907 group is the best group in the country. We all need to look out for each other. Lets suppot this family anyway that we can!! The 4m ride could be an awsome way to raise money for this. We could do a raffle or something. Lets try and do this on a day that we can have with max participation. I am sure that we can find some good sponcers to donate some things for this. I can even try and get radio stations and media envolved. Is anyone else down with this?

There is a fundraiser at 5:30 pm March 22 at the Soldotna Sports Center

Anyone wanting to send a message or keep updated on his status may go to the Web site kept by his mother, Teresa Honrud, at www.thestatus.com. The user name is Honrud, the password is Honrud86.

A tax-deductible account has been established at Wells Fargo Bank through the Bridges Network and another account opened at Alaska USA Federal Credit Union.

Anyone wanting to donate items may contact Darlene Glick at 262-2986 or drop them off at Instant Replay at the sports center.

Hang in there Cody!

I am thinking a 4M ride would be a great way to help these guys, and we could have a chinese auction or something, I will help however possible.

UPDATE from the status page today
Tuesday, March 11, 8:06 PM - Jesse, Lacie,Mike,Bill, Greg & Teresa:
To All Involved: Today was a very frustrating day...we have waited all day for a few answers to many questions. The outcome is: Cody is very sick, actually the sickest in the entire trauma unit, and with Harborview being a trauma center that is pretty sick. His white blood count is down to 21, which is great- normal is 10 but we are happy with 21, we're not too greedy at this point. He is still having some infection issues, everyday he will be going down for 'wash outs' which is good trying to keep all the bad flesh out. Unfortunately, it's hard on Cody and seems to take a little more out of him each time to get him back to the comfort level. Cody, did open his eyes and recognized all of our voices today which is very exciting. It certainly gives you the hope you are needing in this situation. You so badly want to just hug and kiss him!! The doctor reitterates how strong and young Cody is, and as long as there is a quality of life he is fighting the good fight right beside Cody. They did x-rays of his pelvis this afternoon. We have country music playing in his room, but can't seem to talk Lacie into singing the Kid Rock Song "So Hot' I do not recommend Mothers, Grandmothers or anyone with any morals to listen to this song! I really did raise him better than this! Anyway, there is still a long way to go, but he is still holding his own. It takes us a little longer to update this lately because we are waiting on answers from the doctors, hopefully we will have more tomorrow. We love you all and thanks for the encouraging messages they truly do help! We love you all, Jesse,Lacie, Mike, Greg, Bill & Teresa

Did somebody tick off the admin?
